Been trying to get to one of these for several years.  I think I'll make this one.  There are a bunch of fantastic roads North of Mt.Airy that run the face of the Blue Ridge plateau.  As Garry said the Snake ain't that far away and US58 between 16 (and 16 ain't bad either) and Damascus is in the best shape I've seen it in years.  Yep, too many roads and too little time.

It's only a 1/2 day ride if you take the most direct way there.  Of course, taking the long way can easily keep you entertained for an entire day.

The eastern meet was held in Marietta, OH last year.  Though, I believe it was organized on STO and not STN.

Yep, Lewisburg.  I think that wasn't a ESTN but an STN.   My Tiger had a short in the tail light and knocked out my electrical system.

Roanoke should be a great place.  Only problem I have is do I go up 311 or 39 into WV or down the Gap Roads near Stuart and Woolwine in Virginia, or over to Marion and Tazewell, or..... or ......  or .....    Too many roads, too little time.

I remember that. We passed you sitting of to the side of the road. You already had help coming, and said you didn't want anyone to miss riding time sitting around waiting with you.

Yep.  I know that was a great ride too.  IIRC it had a great bunch of riders too.  My wife is still pissed because she had to drive four hours just to find me and then trailer me home.

I'm just wondering it Mr.Awesome will show this time and school me on the art of beer drinking  Lol

Room is booked, for Friday and Saturday. Slabbing back on Sunday.
But getting there will be fun, as I have a week to do so and thousands of miles of curvy roads await!

Odd are that, just as in 2006 for the National in Canaan, I'll run into Mr. Awesome somewhere on the BRP...

All except for that chef who kept asking me to taste the kale to tell him if I liked it or not.

He was a wee bit creepy.  EEK!

 Lol

Also saw one deer (others had multiple bear sightings/near-collisions) and enough men in Lycra to cure a homo of ED.

-----and enough men in Lycra to cure a homo of ED.

I've been thinking about that, not Lycra and ED, but if there was some way to play a game with those bike riders.  The plain's Indians used to count coup.  They would go out and touch there enemy with a stick which was like scoring a goal.   Maybe we could get a stick and touch them on the helmet to get points.   Headscratch

Is the ESTN and ESTO now the same event?
I promise I'll be back when it's in Sept again.
