A long day (450 miles) can get you to The Snake and back (via BRP).

Been trying to get to one of these for several years.  I think I'll make this one.  There are a bunch of fantastic roads North of Mt.Airy that run the face of the Blue Ridge plateau.  As Garry said the Snake ain't that far away and US58 between 16 (and 16 ain't bad either) and Damascus is in the best shape I've seen it in years.  Yep, too many roads and too little time.

What is it, about a half days ride for you guys?  Where was it held last year and before?  How many participants were there last year?

It's only a 1/2 day ride if you take the most direct way there.  Of course, taking the long way can easily keep you entertained for an entire day.

The eastern meet was held in Marietta, OH last year.  Though, I believe it was organized on STO and not STN.

Slightly less than a half-day for me; about 11 hours.

Is anyone looking to share a room for Friday and Saturday night?  I'd like to know before trying to reserve a room.

Did you find anyone to share a room?  I'm getting ready to lock on a room.
