It's a very orangy-red, not the standard Ducati red. So it's just the way the light is hitting it.

That's what I was thinking at first, but that little strip on the tail, right below the seat bump made me think it was painted. =P

I doubt it. This guy owns like 8 Ducatis (he has pictures of all of them stuck outside his cubicle). He's pretty anal, and it has 2" chicken strips.

Nice bike! I used to have an 03 999 and loved it...for about two-three hours at a time. It killed my hands and wrists all the way to 168 mph.

That's Ducati's official/Corse racing red.
Nice bike. Of the modern Ducati exotics, it would be hard to make a case aginst that one not being the "best".
