So apparently Saturday September 12th is World Guzzi Day (since the open house at the factory in Mandello del Lario always happens the second weekend in September).
I am wondering if there would be any interest in another Kootenay Guzzi Gathering somewhere in the Kootenays? Not sure how late everyone else rides their bikes, but September is still prime riding season for me...
The 13th would work even better for me (technically acceptable since it's really a Guzzi weekend), but it probably should be the 12th for correctness.
I missed out on the original KGG&LHP meet, but I have read the original thread, and we could repeat that one, or come up with something new.
It would seem fair to allow other Euro bikes and v-twins to attend and participate in the Guzzi worship...and we could laugh at the sad exhaust note of the BMW "flat" twins as long as they take up the rear and we don't have to listen to them... Lol
Any interest or thoughts? Will it be too cold for the fair weather riders?

The 12th is a Saturday. Probably should post this in the Guzzi Section and over at Stradavarious or maybe the Strada folks are planning a ride too ?

I'll contact Dave and John to see if they can make it. The last ride was a good one until I puked my valve cover gasket. Thanks to Jim for having a spare. We don't leave home without them now Smile.

Buddy from GF says he is in...and I ran into Toadride here at the HU meet in Nakusp, and he may want to join us.
I do seem to be the only Guzzi mounted attendee...so far, but I have run into a few Guzzi owners and former owners.

I would really like to make it, but Sandie and I will be down at the coast that weekend.  Had a great time at the last Guzzi weekend in Castlegar.  Maybe next year?

Since nothing is written in stone yet...does the Sunday work as well or better, or does it make it impossible for anyone? I figured Saturday makes it possible to be home for work Monday morning for those of us that have to work Monday..lol...but it doesn't matter to me since Castlegar is home.
Thoughts?
Unless there is enough demand to move it, Saturday the 12th is still the plan.

Bellissimo! Love the old artwork. I want to attend the factory open house with my LeMans...hoping to fly my bike over to ride the Alps in '17 or '18, as circumstances allow...lol

Yes, they have some pretty good prices as long as you are on the flight with the bike. It looks quite reasonable. I can't think of a better bike to ride through the Alps than my LeMans...

Thought I'd mention it in case you didn't know...Agostinis in Mandello rents Guzzis.

Probably true, but not the same as having my own bike to ride as much of the Alps as possible, through a bunch of countries, and hopefully to Nordkapp. This would be a high mileage trip over a few weeks.  I really want to do it on a LeMans (a Griso would work, but Agostinis only has California, Stelvio and V7)
I will keep that option in mind if I don't have the time to do all I want though...

Now to deal with the biggest problem in Castlegar...trying to find a decent place to meet for breakfast. Breakfast and Castlegar just don't seem to go together. We have mediocre food at Joey's and Monte Carlo, and we have decent coffee at Crumb's Bakery and Common Grounds coffee shops. Honestly, when I want breakfast I ride to Rossland...lol. Any input as to where to meet? Bagels and Brew again? I am going to post this meetup on Wildguzzi as well, but want to finalize this detail before I do...
Any preferences?

Dean, call the shots my friend. Decide where and when and see who shows. That is the only way you can do this. As far as breakfast ... Bagels and Brew is it. Or you are stopping on the road like Frog Peak ( over rated and no seating ) and New Denver ( owner is stunning but hates me ordering smoothies ... lol  ) ...

Yeah, I was just hoping someone would prove me wrong and have a better idea.
You are right, sticking with Bagels and Brew is the smart choice.
We will stick with Castlegar for this year...

I'd love to join in on the Guzzi meet but luckily for me, I'll be in France in September.

Sadly, the "Bent Fork" in  Nelson is no more.  They closed earlier this summer and I have no idea why except for rumors heard(behind on their GST remittances).

Ok, making it official..

World Guzzi Day "Kootenay Guzzi Gathering"
September 12th 8:30 AM ish
Bagels and Brew, 1983 Columbia Ave , Castlegar (by Boston Pizza)

Time is flexible...I plan to get there around 8 and block off a parking spot or two, but Sept 12th could be a cool morning, so there is no hurry to get away, and arrival at 9 is okay...lol

We will ride to New Denver, and probably stop for a coffee there. I am double checking the opening hours of the Kaslo Hotel ( I think they change on the 15th), but assuming they are open we can have lunch on their deck, then do Meadow Creek and back...if they aren't we will do the Meadow Creek ride first and then go to the Dock 'n' Duck at the ferry landing in Balfour. After lunch we can see who wants to do Blewett and Pass Creek, but there is always the Ymir Hotel and back over the Bombi...will decide that part on the day.
If it is pouring rain we can cut it short and retreat to the pub early, but a drizzle won't be stopping me. Bigsmile

I'm not sure how the 6pm time worked for meeting at the pub in 2013...I am thinking closer to 5pm, but again we can decide that on the 12th...

See you there, and safe travels.

Dean, I may not be able to make it. With the weather breaking I have one last chance to finish what was part of the Alaska run but got cancelled due to the Glacier fire. The Road To The Sun. Hope to head out today or early tomorrow morn on a two or three day circle route. Have a good ride.

Done like dinner. Six riders showed up on 5 Guzzis (and one guy's wife on her Virago 1100). The Guzzisti were on: two Stelvios, a Quota, an SP3 and  Griso. There were no crashes , close calls, or animal encounters (though I did catch a bug in the lower corner of my eye, and may have a mild shiner tomorrow...lol). The day was perfect, traffic wasn't bad, I behaved...and no one got a ticket.
What a great bunch of people!  That was a lot of fun, so I think we will have to do it again next year.
