Manual or auto?

Figuring most motorcyclists like to shift their own gears, wondering who manually shifts their cars too. I haven't had an auto since 94, and only a couple of autos before then.

Not sure how to handle FJR-AE riders, I guess tell us if your car is an auto too.

Five speed manual in my Taco, but it'll probably be the last stick I have unless I ever get another sports car. Even then, I'd take a decent paddlebox over a full manual.

'05 Subaru Legacy GT(urbo).

Wife, although I thought her to drive a manual (and she did for a year or two), refuses. Too much effort for her taste, so the Acura is a Slushbox.

Passat V6 with a 5 speed stick.  Holding on to it as long as possible, VW doesn't pair this engine with a manual trans any more

My Pathfinder has the world's least intelligent 4spd auto behind a gutless 3.3v6.  Reliable as all hell, but slow, unpredictable, and loud.

before that, two manual Accords. looking to trade the truck off for a Subaru wagon with a stick.

Just went from a 5-speed Subie to an automatic RAM 1500.  Yeah well, not a big deal cause I mostly ride!    

I prefer the manuals, of course.

I don't own a car but voted manual since that's what I'll be looking for when I get one.  The autos I have driven have too much trouble getting out of their own way.

I'm one of those FJR-AE guys -- I voted manual because I decide when to shift. My car's a manual.

My daily driver is a 5spd Miata and my wife's daily driver is a 5spd Integra sedan.  The next car will be her's and she's only looking at manuals.  I'm not so sure on my next ride, I drove an RX-8 w/ the paddles and even though it's an automatic it was kinda fun.  Maybe I'm getting lazy in my old age...

3.3 liter, but it's been doing what it does for 130,000 miles without a hiccup

I wasn't overly impressed with the 3.5, plus I picked this one up 2 yrs. old for $15k less than the brandy new 3.5 model

I'm auto girl.  My Civic and my Burgman are both automatic transmission.  If I'd been able to get the Hybrid I would've had 2 CVTs.

I really can't complain about mine, except the lack of power. 205k kms on it, which is about 130k miles. Sold my Accord last summer, and bought the Pathfinder and the 650R with the proceeds.  The pigfinder is great in snow.

The Path is a very capable off road/snow vehicle. I had a 97 that I wheeled quite a bit and never got it close to being stuck. Best time was driving out to the beach to do some surf fishing. The driveway in was one of those hammer down don't let up... ever kind of spots. Halfway in there's an Explorer buried to the frame. Went around backed up and hooked the strap to him. Buried the Path to the frame. Unhooked drove out with no trouble. Then a BBC Suburban pulled up bragging about how good he was. Buried that to the frame and he couldn't get out. With a couple of straps I was able to get away from the soft stuff. Pulled out the Suburban and the Explorer together. I really like that Path. I beat the shit out of it and never had any trouble. Some 18 year old kid plowed into the back of it and totalled it for me

I generally prefer manual, but my current car has whatever you want to call a 'paddle-shifter'.  (You can't get one with a manual transmission from the factory, but an aftermarket one is available... for ... 5 large   )
