For those interested in a day long dual sport ride, here's the indicative dual sport route:

https://goo.gl/maps/DY7gKtndYQC2

The ride includes the following stand-out locations:

•         Middle Mountain Road w/ stop at Laurel Fork Campground (made famous by ADV Rider)
•         Spruce Knob overlook (highest point in WV)
•         Dolly Sods Wilderness Area
•         Douglas Road (FR 18) – double track
•         Canaan Loop Road (two river crossings) – double  track and includes hero section

For those interested, I have a 200 mile dual-sport loop to the north (up to Morgantown / Cheat River) that is best done on a thumper (KLR, DR, etc), but most could be done on a big adventure bike with TKC80s and some skills. I rode that loop twice last year starting from Coopers Rock State Forest. It's a good time you bet.

A little early for me to make a total commitment, but I've always had a great time riding out of the Canann Valley Resort.  By the way, what is DUAL SPORT? lol  If at all possible I'm going to be there.

Sure, but I not sure if my crystal ball or the tea leaves are more reliable Headscratch   Sure hoping for more sun and less rain this summer.  Need to do some serious riding.

This is STM.  Pack your rain suit and heated gear and hope you don't need them.

If you want to commit, I'll share a room with you.  Cool

My tax refund isn't big enough to do my original vacation plan, so I'll have to settle on weekend jaunts.  Sad

Sounds good and I really want to go, but just not ready to commit.  On April Fools Day of next year I'll be retiring and then these decisions won't be all that difficult.  Lol

True, but this meet won't include any dual sport. The "dirty" part is just a mix of paved and unpaved public roads. No (true) off-road.

A mix of on-road and off-road riding.

Doug, Doug, Doug,   Dintcha know I was attempting to make a yoke!   Lol  I do know what it is, but my idea of going off-road isn't a good thing.  It usually means flashing lights, fire trucks and stretchers.  Even when I had a GS I think the closest thing I did to dual-sporting was going up a friend's gravel driveway.
