A few pictures to share (ok maybe more than a few).

M.Brane and I started on Thursday for the ride to Fortuna. We're kind of leisurely that way. M.Brane is the photographer and I'm the navigator.

Since 33 was undergoing re-paving we headed west out of Ojai on 150 to 192 which runs through Santa Barbara. It was overcast with the onshore clouds so we didn't break through to sun until we were on San Marcos Pass Road (154).

We then turned off at Foxen Canyon Road and romped through the wine country up to Santa Maria, got gas and lunch, then headed up the 101 to Arroyo Grande and turned off to go through Eden Valley and around SLO, then back on the 101 to San Miguel, where we got gas and headed north on Indian Valley Road. The pavement is better than it looks.

Indian Valley Road dumps onto Peach Tree Road and ends at 198.

We then headed up the Airline Highway (25) to Hollister where we picked up that brisk southwest wind and fought that all the way into the city. We got the last room at the Geary Parkway Motel which is just off of Presidio Parkway on Geary. It's not much, but there's sheltered parking off the street and a decent Chinese restaurant nearby.

Thus ended Day 1.

On Day 2, we headed across the Golden Gate Bridge....

... and then wandered the side roads to Stinson Beach and up to Olema where we turned back to San Rafael as we were low on gas. Flogged the 101, complete with lane-splitting, until we got to Cloverdale where we mercifully turned off onto 128. There's a little BBQ place - 'BBQ - All Day, Every Day' - where we split a ribeye sandwich. We then enjoyed 128 and 1 to Fort Bragg.

After gassing up in Fort Bragg, we hit the rest of Highway 1 to Leggett.

Sorry no pictures of the 'good stuff'. We were busy.

At Leggett, we then hopped onto the 101 and beat a hot trail to Fortuna. Fortunately, we were in traffic in a construction zone when the local constabulary passed us going the other way.

Met up with the crew at the brewery and exchanged lies and stories. A very good day.....

Day 3.
Newsflash: It rained in Fortuna. Quite a bit. Because.... WCRM. I mean it's just hilarious. As melville noted... hasn't rained in weeks in the area.

So we watched MotoGP qualifying at Mugello
Wandered over to the brewery for lunch
Yakked with some of the rest of the crew
Took a nap
Met others and walked to the Funky Monkey for dinner

In some respects... a perfect do-nothing day. Absolutely no pictures.

Still have the return ride so more pictures to come...
