I read the attached article. Sounds like a great system to me.

I want one.

Unfortunately, I'm probably going to be the one around here to get one and then report on it, rather than waiting for real world reviews from others.

Oh well.

Well, Old Fart, you originally asked if anyone had experience with one. Sounds like no experience here but everyone is willing to try it. So you're the guinea pig. Review expected in a couple of weeks.

While I use a Scottoilier V-System, not the Cameleon, I will say this. I plan to have an oiler on any chain bike I have from here on. I have about 60K miles on the system and have had no issue with it. I am sure that the electronic systems probably work a tick better, but the V-System (vacuum type) works pretty darm well. The big difference is that flow rate is adjusted manually.  That said, I pretty much adjust it twice a year; spring and fall.

What really surprised me was how much quieter the chain runs. This was reinforced when a riding friend asked me, shortly after I had installed the system, what chain I had switched to? I asked him what he was takling about and he stated that he could no longer hear my chain, something he usually could by the end of a days riding. Adittionally, chain life is extended, but this makes sense as the chain is always getting lubed, not just sprayed down now and then.

The only down side is that you do get some fling off on the rear of the bike so you do have to do a bit more cleaning.

Me, I am sold on having an on-board oiling system.

If you could ride 1/2 as good as you think you do, you would be a pro.

I've got one. The only other self oiler I've used is the Loobman. It works. There is a new model out as well, I believe someone posted a link above. The new one seems to address one of the issues I've had; when it gets cold, the bike with the oiler stays out all winter, the provided lube is too thick to work so I run a lighter viscosity oil in the winter. So the "new" Chameleon senses temperature and adjusts for it. I'll be getting the new oiler just as soon as I get another chain drive bike put together.

If you have a specific question fire away and I'll try to answer it.
