I agree. I've been using a modular helmet with an internal visor for the last several years, and going back to a helmet with no internal visor is a step backwards. That said, if the active noise canceling works, the lack of a sun visor will be a small inconvenience to bear.

 I plan to purchase a new lid this spring, but ever since I heard about the new Sena helmet I delayed my purchase and have been limping my old helmet along for one more season.  I've already decided to buy this thing, that is – as long as it doesn't disappoint. In fact I'm planning to rebuild my entire communications system around it, including a new Bluetooth Zumo 590 to replace my old 450.

The two helmets I have with internal visors (HTC's) really don't ventilate well when the internal visor is up.  Since it's now hard to find a helmet w/o internal visor, I'm going to step up to a 'better' brand.

This looks very promising, but I hope they find a way to install into other helmets.

If it doesn't fit, everything else is irrelevant.

I'm not normally an "early adoptor," for exactly that reason....   Gotta get my hands on this thing for 1/2 an hour to try it out at 80 mph.   Gotta find a Sena dealer and start hanging out by their coffee machine...

I currently have an old hardwired StarCom set-up that I've never been particularly happy with.  The Zumo 450 is on its last legs...   A new Zumo 590, paired with my iphone for music/phone/podcast, and two of these helmets seems like it could be near perfection for rider/pillion.

FWIW, the GT-Air has an internal sunvisor and excellent ventilation over the top of your head (and a good vent for the inside of the clear visor). The outside helmet body is specifically shaped to accommodate the internal visor.

I've had a 1st gen SMH10 for many years now and absolutely love it.  I will be checking this thing out when it arrives.  I wonder though, it almost looks like it doesn't use the jog dial, I'm not sure what life would be like without that.

They have had the 10u out for a little while.    uses a remote that goes on the left side handle bar.  I have it set up on my schuberth c3.  Everthing works well, though coming from the smh10 I had to relearn the bottons and their function.

So Sena "introduced this at the AIMExpo last October, and said it would be available in the Spring. That got pushed back to this fall, and now the lastest word is they are saying "Delayed Indefinitely."

Based on the fact that they know how to build comms, and noise canceling technology was perfected in the 90s, I'd speculate the problem is the helmet itself (that thing they've never done before). So, now its a safety question. Maybe the damn thing won't pass DOT/SNELL?

Anyone have any info?

IMNSHO Sena can be long on promises and short on delivery. It's safe to assume they'll meet DOT. Snell? I have my doubts.

Sena, in general, is a PITA to deal with. Which is unfortunate because at least the SMH10 and 20S generally work well, although there is, as always, room for improvement.

Perceived noise should be reduced. But your still pumping noise into your skull to 'cancel' it out. I'll stick with the ear plugs.

Hoo boy... sorting out external noise from bone conduction. Good luck! Anyway, at the moment NoNoise plugs and speakers close to my ears work fairly well. After all, external noise cues like sirens and horns do have their value.

If this helmet ever makes it to market, we'll look back fondly on the days when we could debate simple things like oil, ABS brakes, and car tires.
