CO trip

For you boys in Colorado: Ive got a trip planned, hitting most of the great roads in your state, but am wondering the best month to visit. I was thinking of entering Colorado either the middle of August, or after Labor Day....or does it matter?
Thanks.

Colorado weather can be all over the map.
I've been snowed on in June.
July August or September I think would work for missing the snow 99% of the time.

It'll be hot getting there in August but OK in the mountains. After Labor Day? You are rolling the dice and better bring warm gear for the mornings.
How about an idea of your route when riding there?

Also planning a trip and was thinking of June to avoid the crowds. Several youtube videos show snow in June, so now considering July. I've read July is monsoon season.. I"ll be going to Utah afterwards. Any weather advice would be appreciated.

Might want to check out the following....
Go to
www.ridemsta.com
and check out the information on STAR. Open to non-current members, as the registration for the event will include a 1-year membership at no additional cost for new members. But I
caution you, only plan to attend if you enjoy RIDING. If you want to attend a rally where everyone spends their time drinking, cleaning their bikes, or hanging out at bars during the day...this is NOT your event.
On the other hand....if you want to explore the best roads and trails in the area, as guided by route sheets from locals, attend seminars in the evening if you choose to, be eligible for dozens and dozens of door prizes, and enjoy spending your days RIDING with small groups of other riders from the over 400 expected to attend....you might want to check it out.

Looks like a great event.. I'll be covering most of these roads and more but will need to keep moving west. Plan to head to Bryce/Zion, Salt Lake City they back through the Black HIlls.. no time for polishing the bike. Looks like late June should work. \

I thought about the STAR this year, and even bought a 3 year membership to MSTA but looking at the routes, they're all out-and-back. Can't figure what the draw was to make Colorado Springs the the Basecamp, and I didn't want to ride the same 100 miles of road in and out twice each day just to get to actual riding.
So, I'm still going to CO, but I'm skipping STAR and Colorado Springs entirely. I'm doing six consecutive 500 mile days in the mountains from RMNP to Durango and every paved twisty bit and high pass in between, bookended by 1,000 mile runs to and from home into Estes Park.
Still planning on June - and finally bought a heated vest in case of snow. Also splurged on a zumo595 (upgraded my worn out zumo450) and am testing a Sena 3s to determine whether to invest more heavily in Bluetooth coms and potentially the mythical Sena Noise Canceling helmet -- if it ever comes out.

Sounds like a great ride. About those nasty monsoons. I hate rain and try like heck not to ride in it. BUT, the monsoons don't bother me because you are in the South West. It is going to be hot off the mountain and a dumping for thirty miles just cools you down. I never encountered any weather we couldn't ride in during the months of June, July and August. We did have to pull over for a sleet/hail dump in June once.
