After nearly 12 years, the zipper in my Alpinestar Drystar suit has given up.  The fabric at tab thingy at the beginning has become so worn, it wont stay in the moving part when trying to start the zipper.

Normally I'd just buy a new suit, but Alpinestar quit making this suit years ago and I really like it.  Plus, it's never leaked, even through multiple WCRMs,.

I seem to remember a place in Seattle that does repair but haven't been able to find it.

Any help here?

most dry cleaners do repairs, if not they should know where to send you.

Memory is a funny thing. Not sure why I remember this place. I think maybe DD wrote something about it ...

Rainy Pass is supposed to be good, but I've never used them. I work with Carol at Sewing Specialties. She mentioned "partial retirement", so I have no idea what she's up to these days. If you're interested (and you should be Bigsmile ), contact her at [email protected]

She's great to work with, and her work is top notch  Thumbsup

Also check with Maritime and or Auto upolstry shops. I had a zipper replaced in my Fieldsheer suit by a guy who repaired sails and did car seats on the side.

I was hoping you'd see this.  I remembered you as the source but not the name of the business.  Thanks.

An other idea is to check with your local cobbler.

If you still have not found anything, check with REI. They may have an unofficial "preferred" service provider for gear repairs.
