I keep seeing these stories of the dragon and wish I lived closer. There is just so much great riding out here in the Southwest that there is not a tremendous "pull" to get over there.

I was in the area early May. Had a good time. Warm weather then rain then snow on the Cherohala.
I saw some LEOs on bikes. They seemed to have as much fun as we had, riding the Dragon on that weekday.
It was a zoo on the weekend.
Part of Wayah road was rough. Has that been fixed?
Secret road in the area, Tennessee route 32. Don't tell anyone.
Good twisty pavement except for the last mile, in North Carolina. It's then a dirt road, NC1397.

The difference between east and west riding is quite remarkable. The roads in the east (the good stuff) is remarkably technical and can give western riders cold sweats at night. Western riders, on the other hand, get to ride at speeds that eastern riders can only dream about. The east has the Dragon, the west has the Cache la Poudre, ... and the locals in both areas still keep the really great roads to themselves.

thankfully, a little road in Arizona, formerly known as "the Devils Highway" RT666, is 92 miles long, and has thousands of curves.
Never patrolled, and rarely driven, it is a haven for sport riding enthusiasts.
There is plenty of GREAT riding in the southwest, we just don't share with other folks, so they won't come and ruin it like that little tail of the Lizard

That sounds like a fun road. Turns out the one of our former STN V1.0 regulars (Vivid) did a blog post on it with lots of photos and info.
That said, the turns per mile ratio is almost 3X higher on the Dragon and unlike 191, most of the turns are blind due to the dense vegetation. It's definitely worth it to head to the other coast (whatever direction that is for you) to ride the good stuff the other guys rave about.

If you could ride 1/2 as good as you think you do, you would be a pro.

I agree. Almost every county road is a winner.

Thank you, I love it. The triple motor is awesome, it is fairly comfortable (although I need to do a seat), fast and a freaking blast to ride.
