Picked it up this past Friday. First thing that has to go is the seat. It's like sitting on an anvil.

Nice. So this will be a build thread? I'm interested since an N1K is the most likely replacement for the ZZR1200.

If it is, it will be a slow one.
Between paying my son's college tuition and all of the home repairs that have been hitting me I'm lucky I was able to just get the bike. I want the hard bags next but those are $$$.

Congratulations!
First modification is to get rid of that weird, goofy looking, shiny thing on the lower right side. That mod might even make the bike sound better?!

Already on the radar. I may even ride up to him and have him do the re-flash while I wait.

I know it’s been a while since I last posted but life/work has been crazy. Here is an update of what I have done to the N1K so far. Photos to follow as soon as I can move all the junk out of the way in my garage so I can get it out.

As am I. An N1K is at the top of the list to replace the ZZR.

It is a full system. I have not had a chance to ride it yet. As soon as I got it all back together we got hit with 2 Nor' Easters that left our area a mess. Trees and power lines are down all over the place then we got hit with 8" of snow.
I have only been able to start it in the garage but so far it sounds good. It comes with the quite baffle but you can get a competition baffle or leave it out all together.
Here is a video clip of a Z1000.
I like the looks and the easy access to the chain for cleaning and maintenance. And since I always leave the side cases on I think it looks better. It was about 22 lbs less than the stock set up. Can't beat the price either, $750 with free shipping.
