Brought an 09 Sprint home from Alberta. Gonna need some touching up for some scratches to the lower fairings, but has only 4,000 miles and is darn good shape.
Trailered well too! Happy

Only 4,000 miles in 7 years.
Did it come with luggage?

Yes, the matching hard bags. Has original Bridgestone 020 tires that look new and have massive chicken strips ... but are going to the dump.
Guy I bought this from took bike as part payment for some work. Original owner barely rode it and dropped it a couple of times and likely scared himself off riding ... so need to fix those cosmetic scuffs on both lower fairings. No cracks or damage anywhere else. Original manuals etc. It is an ABS model too which was not advertised.
Picked up a Corbin seat for it and will lower the footpegs a touch. Fits me and my long arms very nicely. Runs beautifully, but needs a good detailing and some love.
Going to be fun tweaking this over the winter.

I love that color!
The two best mods I made to mine were: 1) Trident Exhaust (the stocker is a boat anchor and doesn't sound 1/2 as good) 2) 1 tooth smaller on front sprocket (speedo can be corrected with free TuneECU program)
Enjoy!

Did the smaller front sprocket impact the bike's range ? Not sure about performance mods and mileage trade offs on the 1050. As much as I like a little extra grunt, I enjoy good range in my travels even more.

Probably but it still had great range IMO. I once did 400km on the 401 from Ottawa to Toronto with a steady throttle without putting a foot down. More typical numbers were in the 300+km per tank which was more than enough for me!

Thanks. Just read elsewhere that the sprocket change barely effects mileage.

I did the change (as did everyone I knew) on my Sprint RS and never noticed any change in economy but a nice change in grunt.

Beauty! Looks just like my 2008, but mine has 35k miles, which I thought was low.
I have the 18 tooth front sprocket on mine and have had it there for years. Fuel mileage dropped maybe 2-3 MPG, but the fun factor increased a LOT!

Thanks. Just read elsewhere that the sprocket change barely effects mileage.
Changing out that sprocket in the front was the best thing I did to my old Sprint. Made it the way it should have been from the factory - much better feel when starting from a stop - necessary clutch work against idle was perfect after that change. A little more zip, but not much. I remember control at parking lot speeds being the major improvement there. I do NOT remember mileage being an issue at all.
Exhaust change, sure. Pegs, sure. The triumph branded upgraded exhaust (can't remember what it is called) was a nice improvement, the trident even better. The '09 has the higher bars than the older STs ('06 and older), so if you want lower bars for those long arms, they are available. Finish may be a bit off...
You also may want to add lights... night riding was awful. Once you lean over, you can't see a thing in front of you (e.g., exit ramps on rural highways...). That was my sole complaint about that bike
Enjoy - that Pacific Blue is beautiful.

Haha yes. The Sprints lights are legendarily bad at night in anything other than a straight line. Riding my VFR800 at night for the first time was a revelation after owning an ST!

I added HID's to the projectors, which again, were great in a straight line... but the cutoff still left the road ahead black as night when in anything resembling a lean.
I really found no other fault with that bike. Loved it.

Thanks for the well wishes and info! I got the Corbin seat on and it is an improvement for sure.
I will register the Triumph this weekend and have to take to the Insurer to verify the VIN as an out of Province bike. Course that means I will have to ride it over ! Coincidently my new Scorpion helmet and RevIt jacket arrived. The Forcefield rib protector fits great too. Be nice to ride this beast. Albeit a short one given my level of discomfort. But I am stoked.

Managed a ride today in the pouring rain and got the bike all registered and official imported and deAlbertaized.
Pretty impressive. Taught, turns well, sporty, good brakes and plenty of power. Feels new. The riding position is perfect from the waist up. The reach to the bars is tailor made for me. I need more legroom. Been chatting with Seth Laam in Redding and will head down in the spring for a bit of his seat magic. Will also lower the footpegs and it should be great.
Riding was surprisingly comfy and apart from on and off, pain free! New RevIt jacket and Scorpion helmet too!
Very jazzed about this bike.

Island BMW in Victoria has a nice price on a GT. That is 6800 miles for $4900 USD. EAsy to import to the US as well.

Ah, love the looks and engine on the Sprint! Did they fix the projector light blind in a corner thing on the '09?

Congrats on mending and the "new" Sprint. I am a twin fan for the most part, but loved my ST. I rode with a bunch of Triumph guys (still do) and regardless stock or any aftermarket exhaust the lovely triple always sounded great and is such a hoot to ride.
Cheers and Safe Travels
