Haha yes. The Sprints lights are legendarily bad at night in anything other than a straight line.  Riding my VFR800 at night for the first time was a revelation after owning an ST!

I added HID's to the projectors, which again, were great in a straight line... but the cutoff still left the road ahead black as night when in anything resembling a lean.

I really found no other fault with that bike. Loved it.

Thanks for the well wishes and info!  I got the Corbin seat on and it is an improvement for sure.
I will register the Triumph this weekend and have to take to the Insurer to verify the VIN as an out of Province bike. Course that means I will have to ride it over !  Coincidently my new Scorpion helmet and RevIt jacket arrived. The Forcefield rib protector fits great too.  Be nice to ride this beast. Albeit a short one given my level of discomfort. But I am stoked.  Banana

Managed a ride today in the pouring rain and got the bike all registered and official imported and deAlbertaized.  Lol
Pretty impressive. Taught, turns well, sporty, good brakes and plenty of power. Feels new. The riding position is perfect from the waist up. The reach to the bars is tailor made for me. I need more legroom. Been chatting with Seth Laam in Redding and will head down in the spring for a bit of his seat magic. Will also lower the footpegs and it should be great.
Riding was surprisingly comfy and apart from on and off, pain free! New RevIt jacket and Scorpion helmet too!

Very jazzed about this bike.  Bigok

My new 2011 Triumph Sprint GT 1050 with 1 mile on it. Just mounted the Givi top box, but haven't ridden it yet. It's my third Triumph Sprint.

That is a right purty bike! Same color as mine, but mine has 57000km on it, and I thought that was not bad for a 5 year old bike. Good score!

http://islandbmw.ca/pre-owned-view/item:617/2011-Triumph-GT1050

Island BMW in Victoria has a nice price on a GT.  That is 6800 miles for $4900 USD. EAsy to import to the US as well.

Ah, love the looks and engine on the Sprint! Did they fix the projector light blind in a corner thing on the '09?

Congrats on mending and the "new" Sprint. I am a twin fan for the most part, but loved my ST. I rode with a bunch of Triumph guys (still do) and regardless stock or any aftermarket exhaust the lovely triple always sounded great and is such a hoot to ride.

Cheers and Safe Travels
