Rolling Thunder 2017

Hey Folks,
Thinking about attending Rolling Thunder in the DC area for Memorial Day and looking for recommendations for hotel/motel. Less than an hour away, near good restaurant/beer would be nice.
Was there about 23 years ago and don't remember where I stayed.
Thanks in advance

Look for a hotel in Prince William County. Several on the Prince William Parkway with easy access on/off I 95. Same with Dumfries off 234. The ones off PW Parkway are near all the restaurants you could hope for. Exit 158 off I 95.

I was there the Memorial Day when the WW2 memorial was finished. Rolling thunder was something to see...for 15 min. I can't imagine being in it for hours! Hope you enjoy, just not my thing.

Get there early, the staging area at the Pentagon parking lot is a circus.
Lot more bikes than 23 years ago, I've lived here since 95.
Be prepared for HD bikes overheating in the slow ride.
Get a motel reservation, they stay where I live in Fredericksburg VA 50 miles south.
Bring plenty of water.
Something to do once for me.

Thanks everyone.
There are lots of places to stay around the nation's capital. But on holiday weekend such as Memorial Day, it is a popular destination and choice places to stay fill up fast.
Was able to reserve a place in Manassas. Not sure if I will be a participant or spectator yet, but should be fun.
After the event, on Monday, leave the area and head for the mountains!
