K1600B release pushed back to August...

According to the sales guys at Hermy's, the K1600B isn't due to be released until sometime in August. Maybe. Or later - as 2018's... could be.
The change to Euro-4 emissions standards is apparently taking its toll...

In the US the cruiser market is where the money is.

Agreed (sorry state of affairs that cruisers dominate...) but it's tied up by an outfit in Milwaukee and in York, not Munich, Berlin, and wherever else (Graz?). Who, I doubt, is going to make a dent in that market.

It's too bad that Honda killed the cruisers they once made.
I loved the VTX 1300
Hated to see it go

Could that be they couldn't compete with H-D? Hmmmm?

I'm sure that had something to do with it
I don't like the newer production custom chopper bikes they have. They look cool but that's about it.

I love Honda but this ticks me off.
The Shadow is a nice bike but only has a small engine. If they had a Shadow 900 or bigger motor I'd be all over that.

Harley-Davidson has been reporting a steep drop in sales, and I remember their CEO stating a few years back that their customer demographic was ageing quickly to the point that their next ride might be one of those electric scooters you see in malls. They are trying hard to lure the next generation of pirates but that is not easy. They are also getting hit quite hard by the competition.
If you spend any time browsing financial sites, the outlook for HD on the decline.

Good read. Thanks for posting.
I see just the cost of motorcycles being an issue for young people.

I couldn't even talk
me
into buying a new K1600GT, let alone Chris... $20K+ buys at least a good-size down payment on a car...

Oh boy, moving further OT, it's interesting to watch the age cohorts and what they ride and with what style (e.g., the doo-rag daddy). No doubt the ability to pay, or at least take on a note, has a big role. NTL, not many millennials on baggers...

The most I ever spent on a new car was $14,000 and a new bike $11,000. I will never surpass that unless I win the Lottery. And even then I might just buy a bunch of immaculate older cars and bikes. I'd rather spend my money on booze & travel.
