I just bought my ticket online and was wondering if any one else in the region was attending.
Last year was the first one and it was a lot of fun. We used to have a half mile track but the mile is twice as good  Lol !!
The venue is a horse track with a casino and indoor air conditioned access to beat the heat . The riders and teams are racing for points on the AMA national circuit and for an hour you get pit access to meet the riders and check out the bikes.
Besides the teams with huge sponsors and eighteen wheelers there are still independent racers in vans with one bike following the circuit across the country.
If this sounds like a commercial from a fanboy it is.
Seeing the guys and gals fly down the straight and set up for the first turn at 100 plus is great.
It is at Remington Park at NE 50th and MLK Blvd in OKC this Sat. and I'll buy any members a beer who show up  Beerchug

We were thinking about going but it's my daughter's birthday so probably not. I went to several of the OKC half-miles and always had a good time. They ran a couple of the miles at the Claremore horse track back in about '02 or so. They were good but the spectator turnout was nonexistent. I thought they would pack the place.  Sad

Jay, I can understand the daughters birthday being more important than  a race and good on you guys for it.
You know a trip down the turnpike and a night watching AMA flat trackers in OKC might not be a bad birthday present ?
I don't know your daughter but I'm guessing you as a racer and Lisa would enjoy it.
The mile at OKC is a sweet venue.

Talk to you later.

My daughter would probably love it. She raced mx for eight years when she was a kid and her husband still races. She has two little boys now and one is already riding a crf50 with training wheels.
