I got 13,933 miles out of this tire. Could be a record for me.

Looking good and ready to ride.

Why do I have visions of Jay struggling with an old crowbar trying to get the old tires off the wheel without scratching the rim?

I'm definitely a rim scratcher. I also have a touch-up pen.  Smile

How many miles did you get out of your chain?

It was the original chain, 22,639 miles. It had gotten noisy. The sprockets looked surprisingly good but I changed them anyway.

Recommendation?  Buy a good chain next time.  BikeMaster is good if you're flipping a used bike, but I’d never run another on anything I own.  I got just 5k miles out of mine.

Reviews are good, 4.8 out of five stars. 29 out of 30 reviewers would recommend. I don't specifically remember if I've ever used a BM chain(very likely have) before but I almost always buy mid-level and have never been disappointed.

Jay

How about exactly?

2013=16,802
2014=13,660
2015=11,826
2016=26,315
2017 to date=20,947

Much of it is commuting and it doesn't include the occasional times I ride my kid's or my wife's bike.

I may go ride some more today...

When it's cold or raining.

I just drove my truck a few hundred miles last weekend. Of course, we took the trailer and rode our dual-sports in the mountains for two days.

I took the front wheel off the CBX today as my new Pirelli Sport Demon came in.  Having it mounted and balanced tomorrow.  Say Jay, your rear looks like you ran too much air in it.  The edges of the center strip look almost unused and on a bike that's not that heavy you end up with a 1&1/2" center strip worn out with a perfectly good tire leftover.  Jus sayin...
