Stuck In Boone

I thought I had more miles left in my rear tire. So, I had to order one in Boone and it won't arrive until around 1 P.M. Tomorrow. By the time it gets mounted, it'll probably be too late to put in any serious miles.l

So, I'll probably stay tomorrow night in Boone again if anyone in the area wants to meet for a beer. We can throw down with the college kids  ;D

You do understand that Mt Mitchell (close to Boone) is the highest mountain on the east coast at 6600'

Way closer than the 69 miles from Mt. Mitchell to Boone.

Much of western NC is in the 5000 to 6000 foot elevation range.

You stressed the proximity to Mt. Mitchell as having some relevance to elevation level of Boone but, that doesn't explain the fact that despite the even closer proximity of Asheville to Mt. Mitchell, it sits at a lower elevation than Boone.

Your proximity to Mt. Mitchell theory appears to conflict with the facts.
