I grew up in a place with an average annual snowfall of 290 cm. I know what snow is like, and I miss it.

Dave, looking forward to some video of you in action on that beastie!

Took my last ride of the year today for a couple hours. Always bittersweet.  Sad The Triumph is running beautifully and at 3C it was not bad with the grips and vest cranked. Been a good year ( 8 months to the day ) of motorcycling.  Cool Seafoam in the tank, bike all washed and clean for its long winters nap.  Sleepy

Now I am jealous! I have been off the bike for 2 weeks now. We had early snow this year. I was at the local Guzzi dealers open house today (Guzzi, Kawi, Suzi, Husky, Arctic Cat), and sat on a bunch of bikes, just to ease the PMS symptoms! The Husky 701 wins the new "worst seat in the world" title, formerly held by the DZR400...and it's way too tall for me! Yes, I could ride it, but it's just not nice.
I'm hoping for an early spring! This was my shortest riding season in a long time!!!

Sadly the AT took up residence in the basement way to soon. I had a good shake down on the husky yesterday even on the trails up to our riding areas its a tonne of fun once you start trusting the front ski.  It helps the PMS.

Well it’s still winter, despite a brief taunt of spring. Snowing good out there again. I do believe I have cabin feaver. Been selling and buying gear, seats and cleaning out stuff.

My goal this year is to get better cooling gear as I found last summer very hot, with so many days over 36c here.  Got some great and very well vented pants and found an extremely well venting and frankly, better quality, helmet to protect my Noggin too.

The HJC RPHA 70 ST.  Hey, sounds like a new forum name for alphabetman Lol ... but a really nice helmet as HJC is upping their game into the world of carbon and better quality.

Seems a bit early to start ride planning. But maybe not.  Headscratch
Any thoughts or plans ...hmmm?

I rode more miles in the dark Saturday night than I rode in all of 2017.

I was injured in March, underwent surgery and physical therapy and rode less than a hundred miles last year.  Two nights ago, I rode the 100th Anniversary Crotona Midnight Run.

Damn!  It felt good to be riding!  Even if it was from midnight to dawn, in New York, in January, on icy roads.

I spent the summer musing.  I'm back riding.

It depends on what kind of ride you are planning. In my case I have been planning since Sept-Oct when the 2017 riding season wasn't over yet.

This year I'm riding up the Dempster all the way to Tuktoyaktuk NWT before attending the D2D in Dawson City YT (June 21-22). After that it's Alaska before pointing the front wheel towards home. Being retired and having a good wife helps.

Nice! I'm planning to do the D2D and probably ride to Tuk after, but nothing is written in stone yet. I think I will do the Dempster in 2 days this time, instead of up and back in one.
Also going to the West Coast Guzzi meet beginning of June in Woodinville WA...about 3,000 km closer!

I might try and make it to GuzziFest in June too. Let me know your plans Dean.
I'm taking the Italian Princess  for a ride in the desert (Death Valley, Vegas, Lake Havasu etc.) in February.

Is it too early to whisper "Where should we have WCRM this year?"

Yes, this will be my first time trying it Jim.  I bought some ramps to put it in the back of my half-ton.
We shall see how it works out....

It would be nice to meet you at the D2D.

I am planning to take it easy on the way up and down the Dempster but long June days and good weather could change the plan.
