Yes, this will be my first time trying it Jim.  I bought some ramps to put it in the back of my half-ton.
We shall see how it works out....

Take pics!  I am all about Death Valley these days and may be heading down there with the KTM in March.  Cool

I might try and make it to GuzziFest in June too. Let me know your plans Dean.
I'm taking the Italian Princess  for a ride in the desert (Death Valley, Vegas, Lake Havasu etc.) in February.

Me and a buddy will be at Lake Mead just North of Vegas the second weekend in February. Been by Lake Mead many times just have not taken the Shore Drive through the country which they say is beautiful. Lunch is on me if we could meet up,

Be sure to back your truck up to a 2 or 3 foot raised area so as to take the weight of your street bike off your push up the loading ramp.

It would be nice to meet you at the D2D.

I am planning to take it easy on the way up and down the Dempster but long June days and good weather could change the plan.

swing by Fernie i will ride up with you if you want company... did I mention I retire in May  Banana

I will do Jim.  I've only been to Death Valley once before, in Feb, but not in the bike. It's a strangely desolate and beautiful place.

I retired in April 2016 and I'm loving it. Work is over rated.  Smile

Are you doing the D2D also?

So far Paul on as Wee Strom & me are leaving Moncton around May 31-June 1st and riding across Canada. There is a possibility that we will be three but no commitment from Dave yet.

Going by Fernie would not be a detour as we are planning to do the Icefields Parkway on our way to the D2D.

Right now we are planning to do the Dempster and Tuk before the D2D unless the weather forces us to do it after. The Dempster does not look like a road you want to do in the rain.

I did make reservations in Dawson City and up the Dempster as follows:

June 15 - "Triple J" in Dawson City
June 16 - Eagle Plains Motel
June 17-18 - "Nova Inn" in Inuvik
June 19 - Eagle Plains Motel
June 20-22 - "Triple J" in Dawson City

The dates for the D2D are June 21 & 22.

There will probably be a lot of riders going up to Tuk either before or after D2D this year simply because it is the first year that the road is open all the way in the summer.

I'm still working on a route for after the D2D.

Well, my Alaska plans have been put on hold for another year. My dear bride of over 30 years has decided we should spend my birthday this year in Italy riding the Amalfi coast. Damn ;-) The line of credit is not getting thinner this year.  Lol

Italy

Not a bad choice

We suspect he has no bike  Lol

Tentative plan to head your way in the fall or late spring of 2019   Banana Stelvio pass is on my list, not sure if we will hire a tour company and bike or go it on our own with a friend (wink wink)

Nor any other motorized bike at all, I suspect.

Oh well, mores the pity. Those so-called Meals on Wheels (stupid name, btw) bikes really do provide a great way to explore the world. Something that some people clearly have no interest in.  Rolleyes

I thought Dante was being nice as of late  Lol

I lived out of the country for one year.  That’s all the traveling I needed.

Attaching big square ugly boxes to a motorcycle is ludicrous.   Ugly fist of all.  Second of all if you need to bring that much crap with you just buy a pick up truck.

It’s called Camp Suds.  Bring that with you and wash your clothes daily.  Bring clothes that are sweat wicking and easy to wash and dry.

You know, I try to dislike Fly Boy but he's like an ugly mut that hangs around your yard. You want to chase him off but he's got those eyes so you put up with him.

 Bigok

Besides, he always writes that I'm nice so I feel an obligation to "back him up".
