So,
After 5 years of having only my M/C for getting around, I thought it was time to get 4 wheels again. To that end, I went and done got me a 2015 VW Touareg with the 3.6L VR6 FSI motor. Nice vehicle.

Given the amount of snow you get up there, how have you been getting around.

A Touareg sounds great, but how do you fit bikes in it?
Seriously, that's a nice ride.
Funnily enough, fitting bikes in the back and family in the front was the main reason I ended up with my quad cab Dakota. It's getting a lot of km on it, and I don't really see anything comparable out there...may find another lower mileage example when this gets too tired. I can't see owning anything that isn't European or Dodge, for very different reasons...lol.

Jim, I was seriously looking at Defenders. But, given the prices people are asking for a 15 to 20 year old vehicle I just could not justify getting one. Then this little beauty showed up at Cowell VW. 2 year old lease return with only 18,780 km on it. I could not walk away and pulled the pin.

Not much snow in Vancouver most years. Last year was very cold and icy and I wound up riding the bus. This year there has really only been one or two days so far where riding would have been sketchy.

Seats 5. Large cargo area behind the second row of seats, roof rails installed at the factory so a rack system would be easy, and it has a factory installed tow system, so a trailer hitch compatible bike rack would be very easy to install.
Had it almost 2 weeks now, and I am rather enjoying it. Now looking to get some mods to make it more suitable for off roading.

Bought my first VW over a year ago.
I love it. It hits a the sweet spot between performance and comfort.

This Touareg is almost as fun to drive as my chipped Audi TT S-Line was
