Day ride from Barcelona - seeking recommendations
«

Hi all - I'll be visiting Barcelona in June and plan to rent a motorcycle one day. I'm thinking I'll head for the Pyrenees. Not sure what to expect in terms of roads and traffic. More interested in scenery than aggressive riding as it'll be my first ride in a while. Definitely some good info for longer trips but I'll be limited to a day and thought someone might have experience they could pass along.
Any advice appreciated.

When you are there, whether on bike or not, take some pictures and share. Can't help you with your recommendations though. You know, I'm broke, ride a Jappo bike and vacation within 1,000 miles of where I live.

I've been near there, but didn't spend much time in the area so I don't have anything specific to recommend. Some thoughts:
The roads are really nice
The scenery is really nice
There is this random area of Spain inside the French border
The food is great
If you want to see *something*, there is a huge solar furnace in the area (

)
The photos from above were taken along this route:

I can’t help with the roads but, there should be some good motorcycle museums as Montesa, Bultaco and Ossa were all based around Barcelona

Exactly the types of roads I'm hopeful to ride and scenes I'm hopeful to see.
Unlikely there will be moto museums in this trip, but certainly something I'll keep in mind should we get a rainy day.

A little far if you only have a day, but if you can take a few days more it would be worthwhile to ride the Picos de Europa, one of the most highly recommended riding areas in Europe. The area got its name because the snow-capped mountains were often the first thing that sailors saw when they were returning to Spain from the New World. Googling the Picos returns loads of sites for information, I hope to ride there later in the year myself!

Oh man - that's a good idea. Probably too far for the OP to get to, but when I was there last year (in a car, in the rain), all I could think of was how beautiful the area was and how much I wanted to come back on two wheels!
We hiked in the park, before the weather turned
Post-hike weather
But look at that road!

We did a Pyrenees trip couple years back out of Barcelona - it's all in here -

Not sure how much you could pack in with just a one-day rental though.
