I've done a few 750+ mile days on my 06 Ducati ST3s over the last few years and have been threatening to do a SaddleSore1000 for quite a while. I finally checked that one off the list a couple last month. 1,027 miles, six states and 18-1/2 hours (route map is attached below). I left at 4:20am and got back home at 11:00pm. That included about six hours of night driving, so I'll shoot for mid-summer when the days are longer if I do this again. Temperature was mid to low 60s, drizzly and overcast the whole day. Not ideal conditions.

The bike was flawless except my rear tire was shot by the time I got home. Thought it had more than that left when I took off. My bike is fairly stock other than Heli-bars and a slightly modified gen 2 seat. I was tired and ready to get off by the end of the day, but soreness was not a serious issue.

Congratulations.  Smile

Props for doing your SS1000 on a Ducati, not many can make that claim other than riding a Multistrada.

Thanks fellas. It's only been a little over a month, so I don't have my certificate yet. The website says it can take up to three months, so fingers crossed.

It's a well kept secret that the STs are really good road bikes. They don't have the cramped ergonomics of the superbikes, and they're really pretty comfortable for a long haul. This is my second long term ST, and I'm getting close to 70,000 miles racked up between the two.

It took around 3-1/2 months to get my first certificate.
