It’s a huge design potential for Yamaha. Wrestle, just a bit from KTM. Yamaha, in my lifetime, makes great motors. They seldom make great bikes. Blending their engineering with market can often elude YAMAHA
But go Yamaha. Watch KTM and the 790. Watch the adventure market age. Fear that Kawasaki will come to market with a 55 hp 500 Adventure. Suzuki, long slumbering etc etc
it’s an aging market. We are lifelong riders. Pavement and dirt. Craving a 500 cc twin. Adventure please. 380 lbs wet. 6 speed. Etc
My 640 is still that bike. Frame a bit big for average folks. Great bike. Amazing compared to my 250 Elsinore, my TL 125, my 250 Elsinore, my KLR, my DRZ400s ...
But my KTM IS TOO big for a broke bodied, 62 year old.
I ain’t done yet.

In 2019 Guzzi will start to sell a 85 hp endurance bike, much lighter than the previous 110 hp Stelvio, because market needs it...

IF I was in the market for an adventure bike that might require a look.
I guess that bike would attract folks that live in the country and need suspension travel for running errands.

Weight TBD --- that's the real kicker -- I'd be all over wee-strom replacement with better off-road ability and good road manners since I don't really dirt ride anymore but every once in a while can be talked into a little "adventure" where I find myself on a sv650 riding with friends on KLX650s.
