My dad had the 250 version. He died in '83. The bike stayed in the family but within a year or two, my brother and his buddies trashed it to the point it wouldn't run. It sat in our storage garage for years. A few years ago, I went to get it to restore it. It had been stolen.

Gave my youngest brother a DT175 back in the 80s so he could learn on before he got ideas about using our race prepped YZ250s.   That was great bike for tooling around on the farm and in the woods and making runs up to the corner store --- and quiet too....

Obviously?   I sure can't tell without being an old Yamaha expert.

Judging from your Yamaha history, esp that 74 360, you should have noticed that the ThermalFlow shocks should be flipped around so the reservoir is on the forward side.

I had a 74 MX 125 that had ThermalFlows and I noticed it instantly.  BTW, the 74 MX was horribly out classed by the Honda Elsinore of that era.

You know, I thought of that but couldn't remember if it was forward facing or not. My MX360 had a lot of power.

I had one of those, but a later year. Mine was the first year of the monoshock, but I don't recall what year that was. 1978?
