Everyone always toots their (bike's) horn. I will too. This is one awesome machine. Excellent suspension, above average engine, quality build, fast and reliable. My only big complaint is that it is so damn tall - but that's the trade off for good suspension. My minor complaint is the range. I'm doing good to get 100 miles out of a tank. Three gallon tanks are available but I don't like the looks of them. I carry a quart bottle of fuel which should be good for another 10-15 miles in an emergency. I recently bought a 1.75 gallon Rotopax that I could use if I ever get around to riding anywhere any more remote than the hills of Arkansas and Oklahoma.

My friend asked if I wanted to watch his grandson practice for motocross? I met them and then his grandson tells me to go ahead and ride his bike. Great. I had to start the bike, pull in the clutch and put it in 1st gear then lean it waaay over to about 45* and jump on it as I let out the clutch!!! No way could I sit on it.

Lol Had an old bitty flag me down in the neighborhood a little while back to tell me I could not ride my dirt bike (the KLX) on the road. I pointed out to her that it has a license plate and is in fact street legal. She told me again that I cannot ride a dirt bike on the street and she was calling the cops. I pointed to a house a couple doors down where one of the State Troopers that live in my development resides. They have assigned cars/suvs that they take home with them so his Trooper Tahoe was in the drive.  I said "lets go ask Al." (NOTE: Al rides too).  She called me a troublemaker (I was riding responsibly and stopped when she flagged me down) and toddled off to her house.

Saw Al later that day and related the story. Talked to him yesterday evening and he said he went to her house and told her he had multiple reports of an older woman harassing motorcyclists and did she know anything about it. He said she stammered out a no and closed the door in his face!

If you could ride 1/2 as good as you think you do, you would be a pro.

Lousy dirt biker.

I got the mx bike out today. I don't think I have started it in two years. I aired up the tires, put in about a quart of fresh gas and a splash of K2 oil. It took about twenty kicks but ran great. I made a lap around the neighborhood, then put it back in hibernation.

I think I have a subconscious obsession with the color red.
