No rides planned. Hopefully, a weekend here or there.
I have ridden less than 1000 miles each of the last 2 years. I hope to get more than that in 2019.
My wife has been fighting the F'n C for about 6 years. I don't want to be away for any length of time. She is hoping to take a vacation with her sisters this summer. If she is able to, I will just get on and ride. Direction or destination won't be particularly important. I just want quiet roads. I may even be the one holding up traffic. Hopefully, I'll turn it up as I get into the moment instead of dwelling on "what if?"

Comin' to see
you
, of course!
That's assuming that all goes well when I get my eyes tuned up (cataracts removed), which is supposed to happen in Feb.
I also did not ride much last year (Busy with the move.) I will probably make a trip to Edmonton to see some riding buddies, and (hopefully) tie up some loose ends there (Unsold truck)

Motorcycle related:
After my trip to Alaska and back this year (47 days and 23,493 km), I have to scale down in 2019. The current plan is to tour the Island of Newfoundland and then do the Trans Lab Highway. I'm looking at about two weeks for the trip.
BTW, if any are interested in my Ride Report for the Alaska Trip and haven't seen it yet, it can be seen here:
https://advrider.com/f/threads/alaska-2018.1346111/
Other travel:
For the first time since we retired in 2016, Sue and I are planning to go to Florida this winter. We will be driving down in March and will stay most of the time we are there with her sister and husband who live in St Petersburg. While there I plan to go to the Daytona 200 (March 16) at the tail end of Daytona Bike Week and possibly the Gator Nationals (NHRA) the next day in Gainsville FL.
Having never seen Mickey Mouse I also have to go see him just to say that I was there.
Running:
I will continue running and racing as long as my body allows it.
This year I was 5th in points in NB in my age category of 60-69. I did nine races altogether. The longest one was a half marathon and the shortest one was a 5K race. Seven of those counted as points races.
Other
Sue and I will continue to enjoy our four grandkids who all live less than two kms from us.

I have a few events already scheduled.
To wrap up 2018. I have a ride from Kissimmee, FL. to Key West, FL on the 29th and 30th of December.
For 2019....
I sponsor a Riding season kick-off Spring Ride-to-Eat at Eskimo Joe's in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Usually the 1st Saturday in May.
I will be attending the West Coast FJ Rally in Hayfork, California the weekend after Memorial day.
The 4th weekend of June I will be attending the Central FJ Rally in Jasper, Arkansas.
The last weekend of September I will be attending the Vintage Yamaha Rally in Robbinsville, North Carolina.
All loaded up and ready to pull out first thing in the morning 12/20/18. Headed to Texas, South Carolina and Florida

Steve has pretty much recovered and been given an OK by his Dr. to put full weight on his bum ankle from the deer hit that I have been updating you all on. We've talked about this Spring him coming down from Colorado, when he can get out, to my place in New Mexico so we can ride around Northern NM to look for a place for him to move to.
June 3-7 me and, at least, two others have a trip planned to meet in Kanab, Ut and ride around to see the National Parks, ride Hwy 12, Hwy 95, down Moki Dugway, Mexican Hat and then Monument Valley and then back to NM.
Buelligan mentioned to me about his annual Arizona Hwy 191 ride the week before Memorial Day. A ride I am seriously considering.
Now that I am back in NM there will be many weekend jaunts over Million Dollar Hwy and into Colorado.

I'm still hoping to ride to Tuk in 2019, but it's 50/50 right now as to whether I will make it. At the very least, I will definitely ride to Alaska. Hopefully, Linda and I will get to one Guzzi meet in Wasington state, and hopefully there will be some kind of STN get together in BC, or West Coast...we can only hope. Other than that, I will do about 30,000 km of commuting, and a whole bunch of weekend trips. Lol

Nothing finalized yet.
Considering a Lake Superior Circle Tour ride in May (clockwise, from Thunder Bay, or maybe Duluth).
Any good / cheap / clean / bike friendly motels to recommend on that route?

Currently trying to decide between two options (starting from Saskatoon) for sometime in June, both are about the same distance.
Option 1: Black Hills SD, Beartooth Pass, west to Lolo Pass, north through Palouse to Kootenays, up to Revelstoke and then eastwards home.
Option 2: West through Banff, Radium, Kimberley etc. to Creston, up through the Kaslo to Nakusp and Fauquier run, down to Kelowna, Princeton, Abbotsford, south to Cascade Hwy, then back east over it along the 20 and then a bit south to do the Lolo Pass and then north and east from Missoula to home.
Trying to save some $ for a longer trip to Italy, Spain and Portugal in late fall, early winter, so that might be it for bike trips this year.

Option 2 looks like a lot of fun! I am planning to ride the Cascade highway myself sometime this summer.

It is winter. The forecast says at least 2 more weeks in the deep freeze here. In past years I would have been riding next week. It was -25c last night...more of the same on the way.
I really really hate winter.

I have managed to get out for short rides the last few weekends. It has been hovering around 5 to 8 here lately, and by noon it is not bad riding.

Finally warming up, but it's a sea of mud getting home! Maybe a few more weeks and it will be passable on a streetbike.
