Next week July 10th or 11th(Tue/Wed or Wed/Thur) I am leaving Albuquerque and going to the Gunnison area. I will ride the Million Dollar Hwy and Hwy 149 over Wolf Creek Pass. Not sure which way I will go and then take the other way back. Just throwing this out there for anyone that wants to ride some great country. Accommodations are taken care of.

I'll be with you in spirit. Please do a ride report with pic's. That's the ride I might do next year.

I just got back from there.  Colorado Mounties DO Patrol and WILL give you a ticket for +10.  Do the good stuff early in the morning if you want to avoid traffic.

I took pictures of my 2,000 mile vacation from one month ago. If the stars align I will TRY to put a ride report together. Then, I'll try for the new also trip.

I shouldn't have too much traffic in the middle of the week.

Leaving at 6:00a this Wednesday, July 10. I'll be back for dinner on Thursday. Steve is following me back on his FJR1300. It will be about 780 miles for me on the two day trip.

Next week, August 6, 7 or 8, me and a buddy are leaving Albuquerque about 7:00a for a day ride to the Million Dollar Hwy. This will be the third time for me this Summer. We'll go through Durango to Silverton and then to Ouray. Have lunch in Ouray and head back. Probably a 600 mile day.

Any of you couch potatoes want in?

The trip to Colorado is not happening on the mentioned dates. On these dates it is raining where we were going to go. I don't mind getting "caught" in rain I just will not plan to go ride in rain.

Looks like  8/15 is looking good for leaving in the morning and riding the Million Dollar Hwy to Ouray for lunch. Looks like me and one buddy. Steve may ride from the Gunnison area and meet us. Sounds like a great day.

Nah, projected to rain at 100% certainty on the Million Dollar Hwy again for next week.    We'll go the other way through Chama, Pagosa Springs over Wolf Creek Pass on to Creede to meet Steve. The three of us will have lunch and Steve will follow me back home again for a couple day visit.            Bigok

A bunch of the Tulsa guys are at Creede this weekend. I don't know how long they are staying though.

Have you ever been on that Hwy 149? Fantastic from Chama, NM over to Pagosa Springs and over Wolf Creek Pass through Creede and then through Lake City to Gunnison. I never tire of that ride.

Last Friday I left home at 7:00a from Rio Rancho, NM to Cuba, Dulce, Pagosa Springs, CO, over Wolf Creek Pass and to Creede, CO to meet my buddy for lunch. 275 miles. We found a great little BBQ place that we've eaten at twice now. After lunch we both headed South to Chama, NM and set-up our tents at a real nice RV park. We spent the rest of the day looking at property for him to buy and move to from Colorado. Next morning after breakfast we went back to my home and Steve left to go back to Colorado this morning, Tuesday. Nice ride and good visit.

Last Sunday after church I threw some stuff together and just as I was getting ready to leave Steve comes out of the mountains and calls me to ask what I'm doing. So I tell him I don't want to speak to him on the phone. He says why? I say because I'm on my way to beat him out of dinner!! I arrived about 6:30p and we had a nice visit. Beautiful weather, although I got a little rain, and everything is still looking green. Starting to get a bit cold in the morning but not too cold. I got back home late Tuesday afternoon. I just love those spur of the moment trips. Million Dollar Hwy was great as usual and I scraped up my foot pegs again!         411 miles from my driveway to his cabin. Coming back I made it in 6 3/4 hours with two stops for gas. 61 mph average. I still have a clean driving record!!!!!!!!!
