Perhaps one of these days I'll transcribe this story directly into posts, but for now, you're getting links  Bigsmile  I can't believe how long I've taken just in getting this far, and I'm still working on it    But now I have another trip coming up, so I'm trying to clear the board to make room for the new stuff, so I'll feed this trip in here as I work on it.

For now, join me here

And some teaser pics, so you know what you're getting into  Bigok

Nice photos! Can't wait 'til you get to sunnier climes. We once got so wet riding to Domodosola that we had to stay an extra day just to let our leathers dry out. Still, they hadn't fully dried until we got past Milan. Never seen such rain.

We visited Domodosola because my mother's family came from near there: Cadarese. Pretty when the sun's out.

Looking forward to the rest of the trip! Thanks!  Smile

We also stayed in Fiesole and for the same reasons. Unlike you, we had glorious weather which brought out the mosquitos. After a sleepless night, we took the bus into Florence and spent the first hour learning the word "mosca" and buying plug-in repellent.

Our second trip to Florence was by air. In February, because the flight was so cheap we couldn't say, "No."

It was freezing – record low temperatures, all the fountains frozen mid flow. The upside: we were the only people on the streets.

Waiting for Day 6...

Oh the mosquitos were a pain, to be sure! I hate those little buggers. I mean, maybe if they didn't make any sound and just silently took my blood, I wouldn't mind so much. And do they really NEED to leave some anticoagulant behind? Just eat something and leave!  Embarassment

That would have been nice, to see the frozen fountains and empty streets! That's one of the bonuses of off-season travel. As it is, I can't imagine visiting some of the places we do during "high season"  Crazy

Wow, I've never seen Tuscany wet and green, just hot, golden and extremely dry, even in May - June. And mosquitos?
Great pics!
Waiting for day 6.

Lol  I think that's the same for me: every picture I've seen of Tuscany before this trip was of golden fields and deep blue skies. It was surprising to see it so green. At least it wasn't hot (which is why we came so early in the year).

As promised: Day 6

Bonus photo not on the website  Cool

The trip write up is done. Here is Day 7

And a few pictures, too. The rest of the days are linked via the webpage, so there's no real need for me to post them here. Unless for some reason that makes someone happy? Shrug  Bigsmile

Nice trip. And I'm glad to see the weather improved for you.

I thought I recognized the Genoa coastline. We spent three nights there on our Sicily trip. I didn't post it, because it was a cage trip, but just in case you want to see some happy snaps:

We're leaving this Saturday for a two week ride. I'm still not sure where we'll end up. I guess it will depend a lot on the weather...  Cool
