I love monsoons. You can see them in the distance. They travel around and it can be 95* and when the monsoon comes over the temperature drops and the rain dumps. It happened today but the monsoon was accompanied after about five minutes of rain dumping with marble sized hail. The hail took quite a few leaves off the trees and piled up near the fence. It was quite a show outside.

The water collection drum that is in the picture was nearly empty because of the recent hot weather. After five minutes the 50 gallon drum was full!

I love "weather"  Bigok

People would look at me funny when I'd say that I didn't like the weather in the SF Bay area (Mountain View). But 75° F and blue skies for 350 days a year is just boring  Bigsmile

I like "weather" as well. As long as I don't have to ride in it! Of course, a lot of people would call 75* and blue skies perfect!   Smile

We were driving to Kansas last Friday. It was 69° when we left. At one point, it dropped from 69° to 53° within one mile. By the time we got about halfway up Kansas, there was ice hanging from the trees.

I still want 75° and sunny every day.

It's a fairly common occurrence here. Weather in Oklahoma is definitely not boring.

We had snow last week. Some parts of my town got a reported 8 inches but at our house, we only got about two.

Yesterday(Friday) it dumped rain. Bad. Must of rained an inch in an hour. Then it hailed. Very nice sitting in the garage watching it. Except for the lightening and big BOOMS!

It was beautiful here all week. Very unusually low humidity and slightly lower than normal temps. Of course, when today came around and I was off work, it was 95° and humid.

I rode 180+ miles on the 450L anyway.  Cool

Bad news for me...

The local woods and hills I "used" to ride have changed. Both locations, just a short distance out of town, were housing developments that went bust. One had the roads paved with concrete curbs on what I am guessing was 2-1/2 to 5 acre plots. It had been abandoned over 5 years ago (2013 downturn?) and had lots of single track trails running around the 1/2 mile section that had lots of hills and a few creeks. Nothing real technical, but fun with a few little jumps. The other was a smaller development that had roads graded but nothing more before it was abandoned, probably the around the same time.

I went out there on the T7 today and found construction started back up at both locations. Either gonna have to find some new areas or just ride the really bad back dirt roads (lots of sand. mud holes and washouts) in Logan County, about 15 miles North of where I live. Since I work up there, I do take them regularly on my way home, but not like riding in the hilly woods.

Oh, and mid to upper 90's with 55% humidity and very light winds. To keep with the theme of the thread.

I work for a civil engineering company and land development is going crazy here. We've even taken over three abandoned-in-progress subdivisions.

It was 97° here today. I changed the front tire on the FJ-09. After that, I was too hot and miserable to ride. A brief storm blew through about six o'clock. It never rained on us but the winds were probably 50+mph. The temp dropped from 97° to 82° in about ten minutes.

The weather has changed here. Last couple of days it has been cold in the morning. Near freezing. And the wind!! Miserable.

This weekend I go to my nephew's wedding in Dallas so no riding for me.
