07 ninja 650R

I had trouble with the bikes stator to rectifier connector. I'm eliminating connector, and connecting direct.
The system left me stranded. Battery and rectifier/regulator tested to be good.
The stator shows normal resistance, and no short to gnd. between fields.
The manual states the a/c voltage should be 42V or greater across the three fields. I called tech @ricks motor sports, told me voltage varies with different stators, and slightly lower voltage should be acceptable
@4000 rpm's, I'm reading 35-37V. Is that a problem?
Is the Stater going bad, and is it because of burned stator connector.
If stator needs replacing, should the regulator be replaced @ same time?
 I've replaced the stator just over a year ago, with an after market unit from Rick's motosport.
Well; I found out Rick's aftermarket stator has a lower output, and slightly smaller leads to connector than stock; which in all; is probably why the terminals fried!! It doesn't match the OEM stator.
I guess you get what you pay for. My OEM stator lasted 10 years, and 60K miles!!
the OEM stator died, but the terminals where like new @ that mileage; but @maybey less than 10K miles on this aftermarket stator;
this shouldn't happen.

I'm not the best at electronics but from what little I know it sounds like your aftermarket stator is the culprit. If I were you I'd shop around for a low mileage crashed bike in the motorcycle wrecking yards and get a stock stator.

I just found an FJR exhaust O2 sensor, hi pressure fuel line and crankshaft position sensor from a low mileage 2015 FJR for UNDER $50 for the lot. That is over $300 DISCOUNT from the online stores.

 Since the stator is operational, and keeps the battery charged and tested @14.3- 14.5 Vdc steadily @ batt, it should be good to also operate a few low amp devices ,sa a gps and cb radio. rect/reg. seem to be functional . I lengthened and directly connected the leads. I'll keep monitoring those connections.
