Bubba,

Good to see you again. This place has been dead for some time now. Nice to see someone try to breath much needed life back into it.

I hope you and the family are doing well, and weathering this current scary situation without any drama.

Hey Jim, good to see you!

Definitely looking forward to getting in some trips outside the valley soon (assuming we don't get locked down just as the nicer weather is starting up). Hope you folks are doing well.

But, yeah, let's get some good riding in this year!  Thumbsup

Hey Bubba,
Good to see you back. Very little going on around here outside of the political sewer that I avoid like the plague.
How about we try to revive the WCRM  when long distance travel again becomes possible.

I've just started posting again after a long hiatus.    Seems an enforced work vacation leaves me not much to do.   I'm even entering the Politics forums  sewers.

Haven't been on a bike for a LONG time now.   Bad knee and a driving a convertible surrogate seem to take care of that.

You still living in the Kootenays or you move back to Victoria?

Pretty good man.

Colleen works in healthcare, but her location has had ZERO cases,  they're very strict on protocol there, and have been in lockdown mode for months.   If it gets in,  it'll be like the other long term care places.

My work has enforced a work from home thing till the 19th,  I'll probably know more on the 18th (late in the day typically).

Haven't even seen a motorcycle out this year,   winter has been SOOOOOOO long.    We're in the coldest April in decades.

So glad to see that there is still life on this forum!  I hope we can get together in person sometime this summer,  if they ever decide to let us leave/enter this island hell!   Razz

My last ride was to Edmonton in Sept., 2018.  Got caught in the early snow and would have frozen to death had not a buddy loaned me an old riding jacket that was more appropriate for the weather.

I apparently have the same issue distraction excuse as Birdrunner  -  driving a convertible surrogate.  Ain't that a kick in the ...!  Mine is a dark cherry red Inlove Miata NC, the one with the push button power hardtop.  Been using it - (top down) quite a bit here in sunny Victoria.   Bigok  Next step - a vanity plate- HIGRRLS - if that's not already taken  Wink

The bikes are crammed into the tiny garage that I have out back, except for one that is still in the trailer that brought it here in 2017.  The gas in them has probably turned to jello by now.  I need an incentive to get some rolling again, so won't somebody come and see me??

What I meant was that I need a reason - any reason - to get back on a bike.  I've had some medical issues that have precluded riding for the past couple of years, but that's all behind me now.  (Modern medecine is nothing short of miraculous!)

Well Holy Fu8K  EEK!  there's a few of you   posted up  I am totally surprised are still vertical (snerk)  Jim has motivated me to reply, soooo. I am still kicking around and apparently now living a block away from Jim, welcome to the neighborhood  Twofinger  I moved from the East kootenay to the West, got tired of working sold the house bought a smaller one closer to the cabin and the Whiskey table (for those that can still remember)it just came up in conversation the other day. My new vocation?  riding timbersleds, skiing in the winter, in the summer riding mostly dual sport and Adventure bikes, hanging out at the lake and playing with grandkids. I have been snooping around looking for an interesting more street oriented project  bike to keep me busy but nothing has jumped out at me yet. Any way I hope everyone is still hanging in there during these trying times, for those that have let their bikes sit way to long I am sure you can still visualize the joy that came from some of those early Saturday morning rides, the sun was out the air was crisp and clean, no traffic on your favorite twisty road. Come on nows a good time to pull them out of mothballs service them polish them and get them ready to reinvigorate you.
Cheers David D

Letís chat my friend.

There is at least talk of relaxing restrictions although when and to what degree is anyoneís guess. Early antibody data suggest that there are 50 times more showing antibodies than confirmed cases, but for the U.S. that only a bit over 1.5 million - not much herd immunity there, so what happens with fewer restrictions will be interesting. Sweden seems to be doing ok so far.

My first time checking in here in a long time and very happy to find this thread. Good to see lots of familiar names/user names. I hope all are doing well. And welcome back Bubba/Jim.

I'm wondering if we will be able to do any trips this year. I had one planned that included the U.S. That won't happen now, but I like to think that a Canadian trip might still be possible in late summer or fall. I suppose that one benefit would be that there will likely be way fewer vehicles on the road.

Dean! Ho are ya! Hope you get that Norge out soon. I just had an overhaul done on the Sprint. Had to wait a month because Triumph shipped the wrong valve cover gasket, TWICE! Been getting out for short rips around town every couple of days for a couple of weeks now. Nice to throw a leg over again.

Once the government clarifies what can open when, I definitely want to get some longer rides in Wink
