The Triumph Sprint GT -- would be my choice in Caspian Blue --- but I bet it's too "refined" for your tastes.... not enough "grunt" compared to a FJR1300...
so I'll go with the FJ09 which is also smaller but hasn't had all the "bad boy" spanked out of it the way the Sprint has...
And I'm pretty sure you're not going for the Africa Twin --- you're too short!!!
Good guesses. No cigar. We will have to talk about that "short" comment.

You're not just getting a newer FJR or Bandit are you?
Very good guesses!! There was a brand new left over 2016 Bandit that I had been talking to the dealer about. I sold my 2016 and called the dealer for the new replacement.
They just sold it. I was very seriously looking at one of the left over new 2018 + FJRs. Seems the dealers think they are made of gold or something. No cigar.

A brand new 2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT!!!!!!!!!! There are a couple around and I found this one and after some back and forth I got a deal to be dreamed of. Zero miles, never started, full factory warranty of 24 months. When I get it, it is being shipped from back East, I will post in the KTM section my impressions. Now I am happy as a pig in mud.

Does this come with the side cases or will you have to buy those separate?

Nice choice. I demoed one when they 1st came out and still think it’s the best all round bike I ever rode. Close friend of mine bought one after I told him how much I loved it. Only complaint I have about it is the need for premium fuel. Not always readily available in some of the backwoods areas I travel to. The stock seat is fantastic, seating position great. One problem that is widespread in the earlier models is tank swelling. Keep an eye on that, watch for cracking in the paint on the gas tank. May have been fixed in newer models. Enjoy!
You going to change your handle?

FlyBoy- No I don't have to buy them, it comes with the lockable color matched side bags.
K- I put regular gas in my 2005 FJR, ZX14, 1250 Bandit and 2012 FJR!!! That is for this high country cruising. When I go peg scraping and acting wild then I put in premium. Never, ever had a problem. I will watch the tank problem but I've done a lot of reading and haven't seen where the newer SDs are having issues. I think me and the bike are going to like each other.
I still have my BLUE FJR1300!!

I have always liked the orange and grey color scheme. I can hardly wait.
Going to be hard to sleep. I have never had a bike shipped so I am a bit anxious. I know there is really no reason to be nervous as everyone has insurance. Haul Bikes has been used by two friends that were over joyed at the professionalism and care taken on their bikes. That's the company I went with for the KTM.

I was looking at the 2020 900 Tracer GT and the 2021 Tracer GT, with the improvements, really looks good. This will be my first Vtwin and first Euro. These KTMs have so much stuff they can do everything AND brush your teeth for you!!! I'm looking forward to getting used to this!

Is this a mid life crisis
I still have many best friends from childhood. I am very blessed that way. They all say I was the wild one. If I slow down then I will be having a midlife crisis!!!
