I think I posted up pics of the damage at the time.  Skiers thumb from the last spill meant NO RIDING (moto either) for about a year while THAT got better.

No wonder you're so grumpy... I'd be grumpy too....

I bought a full squish mountain bike in '97. Still have it.

I loved the mountain bikes in the 90’s.  They actually had some color to them

Mid 2000's full squish downhill 26incher -- except the gf has been using that bike for local trail rides for the past few years..  so I ride a 90's hardtail XC race bike all the time -- even on gnarly downhills...  It keeps me in check -- and I'm not racing anyways...

Was going to get new bikes (29ers) last year when I started riding with friends that pushed me and the word Pisgah kept coming up -- BUT then CoVid it.

I will give KVER some serious cred for riding a hardtail xc bike 👍

I'm rethinking my choice of the 27" class 1-2-3 fully-suspended ebike.

Still like the ebike idea but perhaps something with less ways to go before landing. Maybe a 24" "commuter" (longer rake, etc) ebike? Anyone in the DFW interested in a VERY nice ebike 27 incher for half off? something like 30 hours total use.

Smaller wheels won't get you closer to the ground -- they just have less bottom-bracket drop.  What you need is larger wheels and a smaller frame size that has you sitting "inside" the bike instead of on top of the bike.  The larger wheels will force a longer wheelbase -- and likely more rake and trail on the front for stability sake.

We had planned to go for another 350 mile ride today. But, something has come up for two of us so tomorrow, Saturday, we will go for a much shorter lunch ride.

It was a Saturday so we went for our 100 mile short trip for a burger. Great weather. Not nearly as cold as I thought it would be.

So, I pull up to the gas station and one of the buddies is parked next to a new Gold Wing over by the store. We start talking about the GW and the other buddy walks up behind me and says I am gassing up now. WOW! Nice bike here I think I'll sit on it. I say get off the bike it belongs to a stranger!!! He starts playing around with it I can't believe what he's doing.         Then he hits the starter button and I yell at him and he and the other buddy start laughing!  Buddy 2 just bought the new GW!!   Bigok

That's #4 bike for him. He and the wife plan on doing more(near zero miles now) two up riding.
