So, I jumped off the bike to deal with some health issues. Also, ended up changing to a better employer, getting a different house, and all sorts of fun life stuff.

Well, the desire to ride bit me hard this year, and it looks like I'll be back on the road next week!

Was working a deal at what used to be my favorite dealer on an 08 Concours 14, with a preapproved loan from my CU. Deal fell through because the new owners are just not budging on prices that are well over book. Went to another dealer a bit farther away to get an 09 with less miles for less money after I found it on the website, just to get there and it was sold an hour before I arrived.

BUT!!! All is not lost! I was low key interested in the FJ-09, but hadn't seen any used ones, and the only new one was hours away. What wasn't listed on their website yet was a pristine 15 FJ-09 with 1100 miles! It was well within budget, and I'm in love! Put the deposit down, just have to wait for the underwriters at my CU to be in Monday, but the LO ran the numbers and we're well within where we need to be for price, so it should fly right through.

Barring some goofy unforseen weirdness, I'm back! And that 900cc Triple is one fun engine! Been a while since I had a Yamaha too. Last one was my FJR.

So, what's new in STN land? Did I miss much?

I have the 2015 FJ-09 too. It's a good bike, you'll enjoy it. Mine has 48,000+ miles on it now.

That's good to hear! I commute 60 miles each way, so it'll be seeing a lot of miles really fast. Hoping to use it to keep some miles off my 2020 Jeep compass in the summertime, and have some fun going to and from work.

All is good, and I pick up the new ride on Saturday! Weather pending.... Cause Wisconsin. As a bonus, I get about an 80 mile get to know her ride to get home!

It was high 50's yesterday. But we'll see what Saturday brings. It's March so it could be nice, or we could get a blizzard.

Knowing my luck, it'll be the latter... But I do have a buddy with an enclosed trailer on the ready just in case.

Pretty much is. It has exactly 1111 miles on it, no joke! They did put new rubber on it. Old tires had good tread, but they were originals. It was already done when I saw it, they had just put it on the showroom half an hour before I got there with the new rubber. I did see a pic of it with the old rubber though. Its insanely clean. Won't be when I have to ride it up my rural driveway on the way home. Darn winter thaw....

They had a couple early recalls, make sure they got them done.

Do you know off hand which ones? It's at a Yamaha dealer, and they did go over it pretty well, but I can ask when I pick it up.

Also, what are you using for a tank bag? Seems like it has an odd tank., I'm debating the Givi tanklock system.

Shift shaft and cam chain tensioner.

I mostly use the small magnetic Motofizz bag.

Picked her up today, and rode the 90 miles home. Windy as all get out, but I didn't care. This thing is stupid amounts of fun, and probably the most comfortable bike I've ever owned. Also, I didn't even make it out of the dealer before I started adding things. Lol! Got a decent mount for my phone from Amazon and brought it with, and added a tail bag on the rear seat. Dealer installed the Sena in my new helmet before I got there, and I'll be putting on my new Drift Ghost X tomorrow.

Well, I got hit in 2016 and got a new 2016 FJR several months afterwards.

Other that that, not much.  Bigsmile

Dude, glad you were able to get the new FJR! PArt of what took me off for a while was getting rear ended twice in a 1 week time, 1 light apart. 1 on my wife's GSXR, then on my FJR. 1st I came out ok, 2nd, separated shoulder, cracked ribs, and a concusion. Getting hit is no joke, and was a huge fear getting back on.
