My bike has Michelin Road 5s.  The front isn’t even getting 7K before reaching the wear bars.  I don’t ride aggressively, so I’m surprised they’re wearing this fast.  I normally got 12K or more from affront tire and 10K out of a rear tire.

So, I’m looking for something that’s good but prioritizes longevity over performance.  Any ideas on what out there fits what I’m looking for?

I am a terrible "penny pincher". I look for deals!!

Last set of tires I put on the FJR1300 was the Bridgestone T30s. Bridgestone has newer models now but the T30s are great sport touring tires and are reduced in price now. I think I paid not much over $225(?) for a set. Motosport? Look around unless you are one of the "the more I pay the better I feel" people.

Yikes -- I don't get anywhere near that mileage on my tires  -- unless I only use the bike to commute....

I still run the Pilot Road series. I usually get about 12-13k.

Last year I went from PR 4's to Metzler  Roadtec 01's on the FJR and so far love the things. I find them to be as sticky as the 4's and they supposedly will out last them. We shall see. Only have about 1000 km on these.

Revzilla suggested the Pirelli Angel Gt II Tires and Continental Road Attack 3 GT Tires.

Thoughts?

Just checked my Bridgestone T30s. I have 6,300 miles on them and they are worn maybe 60% on the back and pretty close to the same on the front. Looks like on pace for 10,000 miles.

I had to swap out my front tire after the last overnight ride. Got about 8,500 miles out of it. It looked terrible? The back tire looks good and I will get about 10,000 miles from it. Got the T30 front from Cycle Gear for under $70!!

I will shop around for another T30 back.
