Anyone have plans to hit the road? One month ago I got back from over 3,000 miles on vacation and I have the itch again.

Heading to Sparta for our annual TRISTAR just for fun event.  Last I heard we had 20 rooms filled and hoping for a few more. No rally fee, no membership requirement, no rules, just ride to, eat drink sleep, ride, and repeat. Always a fun time on those wonderful roads.

Taking next week off from work and me and two riding buddies are heading up to the Bend Oregon area to visit and stay with my brother. I will be heading to Grass Valley on Saturday, Dennis and Jerry will join me on Sunday morning and we take 49, 70, 89, 36, 139, 299 to Alturus for the night. From there, 395 to 31 to 97.

We (my brother and I) met Jerry in the fall of 1962 when we joined the Boy Scouts. Been friends ever since.

Have bike, will travel!   Smile

Since Debra has the first trip for her business in over a year during the long weekend, I am thinking about taking the T7 out to the Gloss Mountains and riding/hiking some trails in the area. When she gets back I'm sure we will take the other bikes for a longish day ride for lunch somewhere on Monday.

The next weekend we are planning a 3 day Arkansas trip get away as a tune up for our week long Colorado trip the end of June.

That is a great story about your long time friend. Be safe on your planned ride up North.

If you don't mind, keep me appraised of your Colorado trip timing. I would ride up to meet you for lunch/other. I just love riding to Colorado. Three hours from my driveway!!

I got Jerry started in motorcycling (very much against the wishes of his parents - they eventually worked it out) in the fall of 1967 when I sold him my Honda CB77 Super Hawk so I could buy a brand new 1968 Harley-Davidson XLCH Sportster. He was a junior in high school, I was about to enter my first year of college. He and I have been riding together ever since.

Not yet, unfortunately.   Crazy

I do have quite a bit of vacation time, after working at the same place 40 years.

Right now our plan is to base out of Manitou Springs, taking day rides and hiking the area. We've done the "stay at a different part of the state every night" type trips several times in Colorado before. That is fun but you don't get to really see different places just passing through. This time we are going to explore the area more in depth.

But plans can also change, as we like to stay flexible.

That's way up by Colorado Springs! Maybe you'll get down to the South Western part of the state??!

Yesterday, Friday, I decided to do my Memorial Day ride and not deal with the RVs, campers and Lookie Lous. I went 359 miles from 8:45a until 2:45p. Great weather and no traffic to speak of!! I took the scenic roads around the area North of Albuquerque. As the crows flies I probably didn't get more than 150 miles from my home.
