That's awesome!

Now what's the tire count  EEK!

I did not start keeping track of tires until ~67k in 2002. (Although I probably do have receipts.)

Before 67k:
6 sets of Dunlop 207's ? (maybe a set or two of 208's)

After 67k:
67,250.0  - 1 set Contiforce
70,250.0 - 1 set 207's (flat on trip)
79,077.0 - 1 set Contiforce
90,557.0 - 1 set Contiforce Max
99.602.0 - 1 set Contiforce
102,929.0 - 1 set Contiforce
109,854.0 - 1 set Tomahawk T1
114,900.0 - 1 Tomahawk T1 (front only; front was bald back was still good)
125,000.0 - 1 set Tomahawk T1
129,000.0 - 1 Tomahawk T1 (front only; front was bald back was still good)
131,186.0 - 1 Set Road Attacks
139,500.0 - 1 set Tomahawk T1
144,330.0 - 1 Tomahawk T1 (front only; front was bald back was still good)
147,672.0 - 1 set Road Attacks
155,000.0 - 1 set Contiforce
162,000.0 - 1 set Tomahawks T3
168,030.0 - 1 Tomahawk T3 (front only; front was bald back was still good)
171,500.0 - 1 set Road Attack
181,938.0 - 1 set Contiforce
189,500.0 - 1 set Road Attack
199,777.0 - 1 set Road Attack
208,329.0 - 1 set Road Attack
214,874.0 - 1 set Road Attack
222,783.0 - 1 set Road Attack
233,555.0 - 1 set Road Attack
241,769.0 - 1 set Road Attack
250,006.0 - 1 set Conti Motion

Bet you thought I would not know the tire count.  Razz

It's the journey, NOT the destination!

I was hoping you did!

Wish I got that kind of mileage out of my tires......

Again, congrats - you really got your moneys worth out of that Gixxer.

I never thought about removing the secondary butterflies.
When the secondary valve actuator fails; the bike will not rev past 8k.
Besides; I tend to keep my vehicles mostly stock.

In 250k; the valves have been checked 4 times.
Only needed very minor adjustments twice.
(ie. in 1 exhaust valve still in spec but not matching the others.)

That's mainly the reason I removed them in my 1250. With them in it really flattens out at about 7.5k rpm and beyond, after removal will rev to redline (9.5k) much harder without flattening out. I'm not sure why they have them in the first place, must be a noise or to meet tail pipe emissions thing..

Wow, that's what I call getting your money's worth.

You pretty much have to after 30k, since nobody wants to buy a sportbike with "high mileage."   Lol  Everyone knows that mc engines blow up b/w 30 and 40k.

 Thumbsup

Quite an accomplishment - nicely done ET!

Impressive.I just sold my 01 GSXR 750 with 32k miles. I now have a 03 GSXR 1000 with 5k miles. I plan to rack up some on this new one now.

I'm thinking ur going to miss that 750.  Though I have a V-Twin Honda VTR, I think the 750 is the best SB out there.  I sold my friends '07 for him, but before I did I rode it a bit & wow what a moto.

But ET - how the hell did U get that many miles on Conti Road Attacks?  They must have been baloney skins when U changed em.  I think I got 5k max out of mine & it was probably toast way before that.

And that many miles is VERY impressive.

Want tires to last ? Take the longer and twistier roads to your destinations.  Bigsmile

BTW; do you two realize you replied to a 3 years old thread ?
(And due to a deer; that gsxr has since been replaced by a Guzzi Griso.)
