That's easy, just talk to anyone in my service department.  EEK!

Would he need to get the HOV service agreement?  Is that still available?

Thats interesting.  I'm having this problem with the VFR.  It seems to have lost some of that old spark.  In discussing it with the wife, I noted the VFR's qualities, and she said that if it were a husband, that's  the type she'd choose.  I pointed out that bikes should be like mistresses, practicality is often not the #1 thing.

I keep coming back to the multi-strada, tuono, V-strom as possible replacements.

I wish I had funds to just buy something, but I'd have to kick the VFR out to get something new, and test rides are kinds tough around these parts.

Any other suggestions?

Or perhaps, just keep on truckin' with the VFR. Marry it, sort of.

Interested in a 2005 yellow Ducati 800 ss?  Just about 5600 miles (6000 mile service done) new tires, pipes, air filter, lots of extras.

Let me know if you are interested.  I am afraid it won't be getting to much love now that the 1098 is here.

[ Don't give me grief here, any of you mods:  I'll post this in classifieds if none of these guys want it. ]

I have a Harbour Freight MC tire changing rig in my garage.  I bought it two years ago, then a lot of things went sour.  The thing is still in the two boxes.  If any of you local riders want it, you can have it.  You pick it up here in Reston.

I'll take it!  I can pick it up next Saturday.   Thumbsup

I have a 4x8 open trailer at the house.  Let me know if you need it to move things.

I wish I was in Sweden.    Wink

You got it!

Thanks for the offer of the trailer.  I think we can handle the stuff.  Except for the desk.  It would be easier if it could be disassembled, but that ain't happening without a hammer.  And my proficiency with hammers and desks is low (ask Dot  Crazy ).

ESTN road trip Sunday?
Anyone interested in breaking in a new set of tires by riding down to Sparta NC (313 miles from the temple) having lunch with the stragglers and riding home?
650 mile day - I bet they have pie.  Just a thought.

I'd be up for that ride, but alas, I'm on the wrong side of the Atlantic right now.   Sad

VFR update -- service said the mechanic went through the vtec system and it was ok -- a cam chain tensioner is on order.  If the part gets in, the ride should be ready by next week.   Bigsmile

The big yellow VFR is for sale (See the classifieds), not that it'll find a loving home among this group (some persons excepted).

Who wants to tell me all about V-Stroms?

Someone here has one I believe.

Honestly, one of my favorite bikes of all time.  They are comfortable, cheap and handle fairly well.  I have 5500 miles on mine without a hicup.

Duck, you have a V or a Wee?

I'm leaning toward a 650, supposed to handle a bit better/smoother.

And that my good friends, is a record!  And the strongest testimony possible.
The Strom is so fun, Duc even rides in the rain and cold now!
One stall in my garage sits empty, waiting for the next flashy bit of plastic to catch his attentions, but nothing so far.

BTW - its Rally season!!!!! Banana Banana Banana

He has a V. It takes work to keep up with him, and he's always smiling, and (at least, at an idle) it didn't look like it was vibrating, so I guess it's a pretty good bike.

I picked up a ZX14 a couple of weeks ago...sold the GS, ended up "making money" on the transaction. I guess I just have to get the hyperbike disease out of my system. And I couldn't bond with the GS, despite how great it was. It was just too much bike for me...

A bit over 1100 miles now and the rear tire is starting to square off. Downside of living in the boonies is that it's a 50+ mile ride to get anywhere. It's really tame under 6k RPMs -- torque is pretty on-par with the BMW up until 4-5k, but the BMW would be gasping at 7k, and the ZX14 is just starting to grin...
