Fun show - I found several bikes that would be good #2 rides.  Super Motards's in every booth, and the Beul was pretty cool.  The new FZ1 looked pretty sweet, but way to big for a SM.  In fact I likes almost every bike in th Yami booth.

No KTM and no Triumph?   EEK! My number 1 and number 2 manufactures were both absent.  Sad

Pop was smitten by the Ural - I expect we shall all have a chance to ride in the hack by mid-summer.
He just bought another dirt bike 2 months ago - so by April he will be due.  Lol

For some reason, early in the show Stacey and Dot thought that I was taking a picture of THEM!

The new 1200RT-P. This is one ugly bike.

BMW - I doubt it.
Possibly something - but something inexpensive.

The wait continues...  Nothing yet. Crazy

Duck is getting that new Duc 1098.  It is just a matter of time -- like 2 months.  Lol  Then Dave gets to ride his Vstrom.

See if this comes through: http://www.cnn.com/video/player/player.html?url=/video/world/2007/01/15/penhaul.cuba.bikers.cnn

Even though they are Harleys, I feel sorry for them. Interesting comments about using Soviet and French stuff to make parts.

I thought the show was OK.  The lack of Triumph and KTM was really dissapointing.  To me it was Ducati, sleep, sleep, BMW, sleep, sleep, sleep, Ural, custom made earplugs (and stereo headphones), time to go.  I was hoping for more.  Sorry we didn't spend much time with the group.  We had an appointment in MD to keep later in the afternoon.

The BMW was cool, but not for $19k!  For that money I'll keep my 'strom and buy a sportclassic 1000S.  It will be tough not to buy the new 1098.  Great bike for a reasonable price.

The new Conk was pretty cool - but did you see how much plastic was on that thing?  And where would you put sliders?  I can only guess how heavy it was - you know it's gonna topple at some time or another.  And when it does - watch out - big $$$.  Very cool for an uber GT bike.

Did anyone else see the classic dirt bikes in the back?  When pop saw the 65 (?) Husky he went completely :leghump: nuts.  Thought he was going to hurt himself.

Duck - did you see the 1098 with all the carbon on it?  That was cool.  Like OCC - Italian style.

And what about this:   Drool Drool

For me, until Aprilia brings out the Futura follow on there isn't much to look at in their line.  But then, a lot of the bikes from other manufacturers made me yawn.

DNA:  It was great to meet Warren.  Talk about high energy level.

Dot and I went to visit a friend in Montclair this afternoon.  It was so nice out; we will miss these days soon.  Dot is improving in her riding.  The ride there, however, was slow:  She had the gargantuan box on the back (see previous post) and I had my tankbag stuffed to the max so I couldn't see the instruments.  Coming back was more exciting.

I didn't see a new Connie there. Are you confusing it with the ZX-14?

Nope - it was on a platform behind a small wall so you could not sit on it - but you got a pretty good look at the shaft drive, bags, and odd "clip on ?" bars things.  No gill slits, and bulbus front end.  In a word: Big.  Crazy

BTW - did anyone sit on the Guzzi Norge? It was pretty cool - not that I'd get one, but it was cool.  (Probably make my triumph seem like a soulless VFR  :pokestick:)
