My Yamaha does dirt too.
Mine did. Probably still does. Bought it last year and sold it last year.

Gotta love them Japanese bikes!
Change oil and brake pads and run them forever
R1 really brought the sport bike world into a new era

I has been a little while ago, I picked this up back in September. The new to me 1990 FJ1200 is the forward one.

My 08 FJR. I traded my 08 M109R for it last fall.
I only got to put a few thousand kms on it before winter hit...
Looking forward to many, many more this year.

Picked this up a few weeks ago...a 2016 FJR1300A, my first sport tourer (after a long line of cruisers):

I think I'd have to agree with you. I believe unless I get too old to safely manage the weight or a future year comes out in burnt orange
, this will be my bike for a very, very long time...I may still be in the honeymoon period with this bike, but I can't think of what more I could possibly want out of a bike at this point in my riding life.

I'm about to begin my 11th season on my FJR.
The weight is certainly considerable and as I get older,
( now 60 ) I wonder when it will become an issue for me.
So far, nothing has come along to make me
consider a change.
This bike still has a lot more miles to go before
I give it up.

Welcome RC65.
I've been on FJRs since 2005. Speaking with a friend the other day about bikes I told him that I know of no other bike out there that does everything the FJR does. I'm height challenged with a 30" inseam. Just keep the bike straight up and down and the weight isn't a problem.

It actually feels quite light and nimble after a series of heavier cruisers. I know it's all relative, given that it probably feels like a behemoth to someone coming from a sportsbike...but from my perspective it's been a nice change to lighten the weight a bit (though I am still acutely aware of it being a little more top-heavy than my past bikes, which have all had the weight centered down low). Having just turned 50 a while back, I figure I can handle the weight for another decade or two, then maybe it'll be time to look at a Bonneville or something lighter. Or not. Time will tell.
Btw, Blue is Best, I like your tagline.
