Finally, set up your suspension.  I'll bet if you do that now you will see a huge improvement.  I set my suspension ONE LEVEL below what is recommended to give me that firm but compliant ride I like.

Rogue, so you're saying if you weigh 190 pounds you set the suspension for a 200 pound person?

No.  I set mine up for one weight table below your weight.

When I set mine up for my weight, the suspension was too stiff.  The bike responded with razor sharp accuracy!  But the ride was not to my liking so I dialed everything back to the next weight level below mine.

Keep in mind I have a Firebolt so other types may vary.  The bottom line is you want to set the suspension to your weight, then fine tune to your liking.

Thanks for all the tips guys Bigok.  Forecast called for 60 and sunny here so I called off work and played with the bike.  Ended up only getting to 50 and very cloudy and windy.  Other than getting pretty cold after a while I had a nice 200mile ride.  Last night I ended up registering on the buell site and looking at their online manual for an 05 lightning,  I'm assuming it should be the same setup as the 04.  Set suspension up this am and checked tire pressure.  Suspension settings were way off and rear tire pressure was only 18psi EEK!.  I was so fired up to take her for a spin last nite I didn't bother to check pressure. Embarassment  With everything set I went for a nice ride,  good combo of fast sweepers and tight stuff.  Bike felt soooo much better,  I was really enjoying myself.  Only issues I had was bike standing up under breaking and a nervous front end.  Hopefully new tires will fix this.  Unfortunately forecast is calling for falling temps so tires will probably have to wait for spring.  Here's some pics along the upper Mississippi.

Looks ccccccold!

That's a very nice color.  Where is the chin spoiler?

New tires will definitely cure most of the other ills you mentioned.

Yeah,  I dont think it looks to bad with the pipe that's on there.  Maybe with the stocker I might want the spoiler.  I'm a slow learner,  this is the second bike I've bought late in the fall. Lol
