Nah, check out the .22 WRM(22 magnum). You can get double action pistols that hold eight rounds in the cylinder and the Kel-Tec PMR30 semi auto holds THIRTY rounds!

Kel-tec is pretty sweet.   Went to the gun shop today.  Slim Pickens.  Store was sold out of most everything.

Actually, I'm going tomorrow to a couple of the national big box sports outfits and see about ordering one!

I know people who like them but, while less expensive, it's an option when you can't bear to buy a .25 acp Raven or anything by someone that wasn't raised in a Bazaro world.

I see that Glock finally has a 22 Semi Auto.   Glock 44  Bigok   My only complaint is that I wish it had more than a ten round magazine.

22lr are the absolute best guns ever made (don’t care what you big caliber peeps think) 😜

So far they are really good for malfunction drills.

It's a .22 LR for goodness sakes. Others have had some issues with this little pee shooter round.

Went out shooting today with two friends. One belongs to a nice outdoor shooting club that allows two visitors. I brought my 5.7x28 FN, .40 Ruger and Taurus .357 Dirty Harry revolver. I also brought along the recently purchased .22-250 Ruger rifle.

Nice groupings with the .40 Ruger but it shoots a bit low at 7 yds. I knew that so I will have to figure out how to change the back sight. The .357 is the best shooting pistol I have ever known. On the money. The guys had a blast shooting the 5.7. They loved how the .357 shoots also.

The friend that I purchased the .22-250 from told me it is on at 100 yds. No way. About 16" low and 6" left!!!! After checking everything we set up a target at 25 yds. and sighted it in then went back to a 100 yds and got it on the money!

Great day!

I took my Cimarron Arms Frontier Patton (45 Colt) out and gave it a good cleaning in anticipation of it's first range trip. From low-ready and up on target, it's a very natural pointer.

I'll admit to being a little "wound up" because my brother told me that he's been looking for a lever gun to go with it for me. He said he found one close (Rossi) and was going to look this morning. After looking around on-line there are some good farkles for it. Hammer spring kit, large and medium loops, ejector/bolt drop-ins for more controlled round feeds, tang peep sights, etc..  I guess I kept going back to the topic when we were visiting and he didn't want me to buy one before he could.

Mine was the early gen 1 version that I added a laser to for quicker sight acquisition. Now you can get them from the factory that way. My pocket holster works fine to break up the outline and was included with the pistol.

OTOH, My brother just gave me a gift of a Rossi R92 lever gun in .45 Colt. 16" bbl. Buckhorn rear sight. Very slick action. Super quick snap sight picture and naturally points when bringing it to the shoulder.  Very good "ranch rifle" for say, 100 yards without hand loads. Nice partner to the Cimarron Arms Frontier Patton SAA I got a few months back. Total surprise. I think he said he felt obligated to even the score after I gifted him a pistol some time back.

I think experts recommend unloading the magazine in self defense situations.  Someone that is very drugged up may keep on coming for a little bit.

Neither is right. You "shoot to stop" in legal self defense. It might take no shots (unholstering often leads to bad guys unassing the area post haste). It might take a mag (380 vs a large attacker in a winter jacket). You never shoot to wound or you tell a jury that you didn't think deadly force was justified at the time. You don't "shoot to kill" because that infers intent to that same jury. You shoot center mass because that's most like to hit (instead of miss and go elsewhere) and you stop the attack with as many rounds as needed.

And yes, I have a great brother. As he does too. Wink  I had gifted him my old 1911 when I got a new one. That was a few years ago. He was as surprised as I was when this happened.  Nice feeling on either side of the deal.

Say nothing more or nothing less and call for ambulance and administer first aid.
