That is a beautiful area around Wells Gray  

How are the roads? Wasn't it about a year ago or so there were some major washouts ???

It was about 5 years ago that some of the bridges where wash out but they where replaced

Overlander falls...best experienced from the seat of a kayak, IMO!

(No, I've never run the falls...but I have done the "seal launch" from the rocks on river left (on the right in the photo) when I ran the Upper Fraser river a decade or so ago.)

And of course, when I think of Wells Gray, I think of the Clearwater, one of the most fun paddling rivers in BC (or anywhere!)

A local company rents inflatable kayaks ("rubber duckies," kinda like one or two-man rafts) for the Slocan River--normally, you'd need to hire a guide, but since I'm a sometimes instructor for them they'll let me take you down

Brilliant is notoriously unreliable...when it's on, it's amazing, but it changes daily.

No thanks ... missed me by 20 years. I hear that the Trail bit has a sucking hole. Yikes ..... I am an ocean kayaker by nature and the occasional river years ago. Kootenay and Columbia are waaay out of my range. Let me know when the next pool rolling clinic is and afterwards, I will tell you how much I belong on those rides.

 from approx the same spot with my H1 - it had a whole lot more gear on it

You folks have posted some absolutely stunning photos of B.C. and Alberta. Having ridden a bit up there, I just wanted to say, thanks for the memories.

Hope to make it up that way again, but for now your pics will have to suffice. Unfortunately, my own pics are on film so I'm unable to share.

Mark the crazy junk bike guy (actually he's a pretty good head) has a sweet little BSA that he's been working on for a few years. If you were blind folded you'd swear it was a Harley the way it sounds.
