Since there are no big bike trips in the works for me in 2007 (er, not counting the honeymoon), I'm trying to rack up fun ways to do lots of smaller local rides.

Would anyone be interested in doing a photo tag thread here with me?

The Rules:
* The boundaries will be the Golden Gate Bridge, Santa Cruz, and Livermore.  We can expand it later in the season once the passes open, if people want. Smile See note below for Summer 2008 boundaries

* To start, someone posts a photo of their bike with a landmark, sign, etc.  Clues can be given along with the photo.

* Individually (or as a group if you're so motivated), other participants ride to the same place and get a photo with THEIR bike at the same spot.

* The first person to "tag" the photo by posting their photo then posts the next photo for people to find.

If no one is able to identify the tag, the poster can give progressively easier clues until someone finally says "AHA!" though please don't post the location of the tag until after someone else has tagged it.  The scavenger hunt is part of the fun.  Wink

If people are interested, I'll post the first tag.   Thumbsup

Boundaries updated for Summer 2008:

NORTH: Santa Rosa
EAST: I-5
SOUTH: Monterey

PLEASE NOTE:  My ONE new rule will be that, with new boundaries comes new responsibilities.  I want to see actual landmarks -- things that people can FIND by doing some research before the weekend.  If tags start taking weeks to get because someone posted 4' of road and a hillside somewhere near Stockton, we'll go back to the old boundaries.

--> Clicky clicky for photos of past tags <--

My bike is in Santa Barbara, but I'm in Santa Clara during the weekdays (too much gear to lug back and forth to take the bike up here during the week). This is killing me. I'd love to do this : (

Give us a couple of clues, Jim!   Thumbsup

Those look like East Bay hills....?  Water's too small to be the bay...maybe a reservoir?   Headscratch

EDIT: Crap, I actually think I figured out where this is but I'm stuck at work!  : Lol

I'm gonna have to get a digital camera.......

+1
I can't believe I still live in the dark ages.  I may have to get one just for this because it sounds fun.  Guessing the spot isn't worth anything right?  You have to get the photo, yes?

I'm in too.

eD

EDIT:  Shiznit! I think I just figured it out!   Explorer, quick question, on most occasions would you have to pay to get to this point (I'm not talking bridge toll)?

.....that said.  I have a guess.  I'm skipping out of work tomorrow afternoon to check.  Lol

Breakin' with convention here, but with too much snow on the pass to travel over from Reno to confirm the site, I'm guessing this is the road up Mt Hamilton   Headscratch
