Met this guy on the way home from the National outside Lake Tahoe. Started out an 04 883. Now...
1500cc, Axtel jugs and heads.
Axtel hubs laced to 17" wheels, 220 Dunlops, 170 on the rear
6 pot Nissan calipers front and rear
Storz tank and seat
Fork brace
Pull back "Bart Markel" bars
Homemade headers have baffles so it's a "good" loud
More money in it than he can count but pretty cool. He's about 60 +/- and more of a dirt bike rider. Gotta love the work boot "look"

Wow. Pretty intense, but not sure I'd sink that kind of coin into any bike much less a Sportster.

Dude, he's got a full-face helmet on. For a Harley rider, that's about as good as you can hope for.

And those boots are def not the
de rigeur
flip-flops of yer average sunny-day squid. So he gets coverage top and bottom, but the middle's a little vulnerable. So what. He's on a cool bike.

He was a pretty cool guy. When I told him I was returning from St Louis he thought I was Superman. Told him I was a piker compared to lots of the folks at the National.

Who gives a flying efff?
You ATTGATT folks need to stuff that up your header pipes! Seriously, no one but yourself cares what gear you may choose to wear. It is a personal choice.

I see you're new here.
LOTS of people care what gear you choose (or don't choose) to wear. Whether you care what people think is a matter of opinion.
Post pics of your sporty, BTW.

That is a cool bike indeed. Dude is a dirt rider? Bet he has a lot of fun with that bike on local roads. Oh, if HD made one of those I would buy it.

Actually I would. I really like the Sportster line but don't like the present motor and the belt drive that much. This bike addresses both issues and gets rid of the chrome. I would like to get a bike like that for riding around town with.
Oh, I have bought 5 bikes in the past 5 years so I have a track record of speaking with my wallet

You can have one just like that guy's if you throw enough money at any sportster.

Meh... the cost -> value -> performance just isn't there. A $5000 naked or $8000 sport bike will still out do it.

But that's not the point. Yeah, any of the 600's will slaughter it but they are a dime a dozen. You ride that bike and it is one of a kind.
