There's something to the 20 valve high-rev'n motor in the R1 that appeals to me.  Drool

Plus, it's the better looking bike between the two IMHO.

I put 1,500 miles on an '04 GSXR1000 and it was a great bike. More power than I needed, though.

I've ridden all the big liter bikes, and the GSX-R always seems to impress me more than the others. Great power, great handling, IMO, the complete package... the others always lack in at least one area compared to the gixxer.

I like the Blackbird a lot (it's in one of my other polls).  The smoothness appeals to me.  I haven't seen a bike that looked as smooth at high speed, if onboard cam videos are any indication.

But a bike with less hp and less weight would suit me fine, especially if it wasn't a torture rack.
