I have a 2004 GT and recently the power assist cuts out while stopping.  The brakes still work, but require significantly more effort to stop the bike.  The ABS light on the dash starts blinking, but goes off as soon as I take off.  It has happened about 5 times in the last week (~300mi) and every time it happened was while slowing for a light/stop sign.  I have had the bike since it was new and until last week I have had no problems with the brakes.

I searched the forum and the only relevant was someone said they replaced the battery due to intermittant brake failures.  Should I repace the battery?  The battery is 4 yrs old but I have not had any problems starting etc...
